Hadn't got to ride all week so this was my "tow rig" for buying xmas gifts last night. $20 Craigslist bike trailer - perfect for beer, hardware store runs, and sometimes groceries

The easier part of mtb bikepacking is bringing a micro filter. There is a ton of water on the East Coast hilly areas!

I carried 2 16oz Terrapin Hopsecutioners on this trip in my pack through difficult WV Singletrack! Was it worth it?! Heck ya! I also really streamlined my gear with a hammock.

No water bottles on my bike here. I had a sawyer microfilter and a 100oz camelback. I carried an empty Coke Zero bottle crumpled up Incase the camelback bladder became unusable.

What bag setup are you using for your handlebars? I'm suffering from setup paralysis for both my handlebars and seatbags. I need something up front that can carry my tent system that is 13.5"W x 5.5"D x 7.5"H when it's packed; but, I can't decide whether or not to go with a harness+drybag, or something more complex like a Road Runner Jumbo Jammer or a BXB Teardrop.

For the seatbag, I'm trying to decide between the 14L Revelate Terrapin or the updated Porcelain Rocket Mr. Fusion.

My handlebars have the Revelete Designs sweet roll. I’ve used it on 3 different bikes, it’s very adaptable. I believe I got the medium version. I tend to get all the same of things. I like matching sets. ;)

Nice! My biggest issue is finding something that won't interfere with the brifters on my Fargo's 44cm dropbars. The Salsa Anything Cradle + Drybag combo is at the top of my list right now, but some of the custom bags out there keep catching my eye and distracting me. Their prices are all insane, though, so that may ultimately be the deciding factor. At the end of the day, all the above would probably work, so I recognize that I'm overthinking this... lol

The sweetroll will work. Both sides are a roll top, and can be rolled to fit.

This is the best image I could find if my cockpit area with the sweetroll holding my sleeping bag and some warm clothes, with my tent on the front

It’s nice because it can go longer on the mtb, but roll up for drop bars. It’s pretty versatile. AND rei carries them. ;)

That’s outside of New Bern NC last March!

I support this statement. Hopsecutioner is one of my favs from terrapin. I used to volunteer at the brewery during my time in Athens. Good times for sure.

I have an opportunity to get this bike for 600.00$. It’s a 2011, should I go for it?! I’ve always had a love for the old Yeti ARC from the 90s! They had a sick team back than with Julie, Tomac, Missy etc.

I’m looking for a hard tail- this is a Yeti “big top”

Is it worth the $$? That's the most relative question in the world. You're the only person who can answer that. Most people think we're nuts spending what we do on mountain bikes, so you're probably asking the wrong crowd.
Let me answer your question with another. What's the right number of bikes? :boink:
