Yeah I’ve got the 29x3.0 minions that I love but not everyone will be down for them. I might try the XR4 but if I remember correctly there wasn’t much weight savings unless I went xr2/chupacabra

I’m no buyer for that setup at $1700 but with you guys saying $1k, is the asking price really that far out of line? I was thinking $1200-1400 seemed reasonable :notsure: I’m not in a must buy scenario so I don’t mind making jerk hole lowball offers.

Just noticed the one in Bristol. I was using frame size as a filter and that one is a large. Good looking out though

Yeah I offered that guy 1k but he didn’t even respond to me. I was up in the Boone area around thanksgiving so I figured I would at least try. But no luck.

Go frame build, I'd be happy to help you get it built. It takes some time and patience, but it's satisfying knowing it's built by you.

The one in Bristol. He didn’t even bother to reply to me. So I think he took it as an insult. To be fair it appears to be like new.

I'm not sure what you mean by stay low - that trail was rather full commit from beginning to end. That one drop after the wooden feature was pretty gnarly

    The lead-in was sketchy

Only got one lousy pic of us doing it. It was probably 30 ft tall and 25 ft long

I may just take you up on that offer

Any one have any knowledge or first hand experience with the Canfield Nimble 9? They’ve always intrigued me and Canfield is taking preorders for the gen 5 version.

Also, can anyone school me on fork offsets (in layman terms)?

Lol, yes. If you rode that giant wooden feature it rolls into this drop which is the final feature on this trail-no bypass. You definitely didn't ride the trail - you would have noticed this. It was better than the lauded asphalt interstate downhill

I’m wanting another bike. A XC race bike. The thing is , I bought two bikes in 19. A 2019 Carbon Beargrease and 2020 Stumpjumper ST.

Sooooooo- I’ve been looking used, but this may have sparked my interest. I can get a set of carbon wheels from a project manager for a fair price too.

So, to my imaginary internet friends, what do you guys think about this?

    https://www.jensonusa.com/Marin-Team-Marin-Bike-2020

Keep in mind I’m a solid mid packer, but like frequency. I’ll never see a podium, but want to hit the entire local series.

My Beargrease is a NX Eagle Build and the Stumpjumper is a GX Eagle build.

Marin packs a lot of value. But as crazy as this may sound, have you considered the new Wal-Mart bikes? Great value and super XC focused

I’d stay away from that one. The description said it’s made for the podium, and you said you’ll never see the podium. I think you’re goals and that bikes breed are on different wave lengths :rofl::rofl:

My opinion; I think you could get more bike for a little more money new, or a solid performer for that amount.

if you’re a large frame rider, I’ve thought about selling my Yeti Bigtop frame. I’d let it go super low since I had it repaired at Calfee earlier this year.
