When I lived in LA, it was the same way. "Hey man, I'm gonna be in San Diego for work this week, we should get a beer one night" *looks at the freeway from my place in Torrance* "Bruh, thats like a 5 hour drive with traffic"

I’ve officially fallen into the deep dark upgrade hole, again.

As I’m swapping my drivetrain to 12speed XT, I bought a set of lightly used I9 Enduro wheels with hydra hubs. I convinced myself they were technically $100 less than the price I paid since I would have been putting at least $100 into my current wheelset with a new microspline freehub body :notsure:

    Mine :D

That's a great deal @backcountryj and I admire your reasoning on the freehub

Shit, those freehub bodies are over $200 alone, meaning you got a near-new i9 enduro wheelset with Hydra hubs for the price of a rear Hydra hub alone! Smoking' deal!
*I reason a lot of purchases this way. I needed a new rear derailleur last week, and somehow managed to convince myself to buy the complete XTR/XT drivetrain.

Well in that case what I thought was already pretty solid deal just got even better!!

I’m still staying with XT for the most part though. Possibly going XTR chain and possibly SLX crank. I kinda like that bluish anodizing on the SLX crank arms.

Man wheels is something I'd like to upgrade. Riding a 2018 Transition Scout GX. It has some e13 TRS rims and shitty Novatec hubs. I really don't know much about wheels, but that rear hub really sucks. I've already replaced the ratchet ring and freehub assembly due to fast wear and clicking under load, but it was doing it again within a handful of rides.

Go Hydra. It's literally night and day on the engagement with any of my other bikes. I've been ruined. Now I am thinking about re-hubbing my Stache.

I got a set of wheels I'll sell ya :anonymous:

108pts of engagement rear hub and just over 3* engagement. Not Hydra engagement but pretty flippin close to I9 Torch numbers.

Getting some hubs with lots of POE is definitely a game changer, especially on techy climbs.
