I don't actually live in the area ... but there is some great riding there, at least not in winter. Carson City, Tahoe, and Downieville and Mammoth aren't far.

Yeah Truckee is only 30 mins away too. I'll be checking out all the places within a 3 hour radius. I'm used to driving 5-7 hours each way to go biking somewhere on the east coast.

You're at the right spot. Ilsanjo. Ride around the lake and you'll find a picnic table and the rope. ;)

Am I the first to post pics of an all-terrain tactical folding electric bike scooter thing?

ha, not the saddle. was the grip clamp on the end of the handlebar. front tire blew, handles turned and I kept going. Completely surreal dream state of no fucking way did that just happen type of feeling.

I ride WTB saddles for life, btw.

So I used to MTB extensively back in the early to mid 2000's (pre kids). At one point or another I owned nearly every Santa Cruz frame - bullit, heckler, chameleon & VP Free. Kids came and the bikes got dusty and eventually sold. Well, I'm happy to report that I officially am getting back in the game and ordered an 2017 Transition Scout Carbon (build #2). Got hooked up by a shop in upstate NY and saved 20%. I pick it up in a week and can't wait!

Seconded! I'm a big fan of the Volt, but have been putting in some time on the Silverado and I think I like it even more!

My Tallboy came with a Volt ... I figured it was some cheap OEM saddle but it's probably the most comfortable seat I've ever had.

I've always rocked the WTB's but not to sway you from a good product. I am in love with my chromag its the first one I've owned after years of WTB's and this thing is sweet!

Stupid bails: when I bought my Tallboy two years ago I decided that after 40 years of riding motos and 30 years of setting up bikes moto-style (front brake on right) I should conform to the US standard and not swap my brake sides over. On about my 3rd ride I instinctively dragged my rear brake over a 6" root drop at about 1 mph. Except of course it wasn't my rear brake. OTB in an instant, whacked my helmet hard on the ground and broke my right collarbone. Luckily my wife heard me go down (she was in front of me as usual) and she said I was reeling pretty good from the impact. She whipped up a sling from a spare tube (ALWAYS carry a tube) and I had a 3 mile one-armed hike out to the road, where she rode home and got the truck. I tried to ride when we got to the fire road (after about a mile of pushing) but just didn't feel safe riding left-handed (front brake only) down the steep grades. Right arm in a sling for 6 weeks, glad I had an AT. Swapped my brakes over as soon as I had use of both arms again.

What chromatic saddle do you have. I bought some chroma grips last year and they are great.

I'm hoping someone can help me out. I got a Yakima bike rack for free from my GF's dad. His neighbor was going to toss it.

Unfortunately its for a 1 1/4 hitch. So I bought this adapter from etrailer: https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Yakima/Y8890174.html

I can't figure out how the F this is supposed to work. Maybe this adapter isn't right or maybe I need to buy a new hitch pin, but something isn't working. The hitch pin that came with it is too short. It won't thread. The hitch pin I have for other things wont fit into the hole on the bikerack (or the adapter for that matter). I can get the hitch pin through BARELY and clip a codder pin on the tip but it's obviously not designed for that.

I'm starting to understand why it was getting thrown out.

Side note: the set screw they gave me with the adapter isn't the right size for shit. The plastic piece that came with it doesn't seem to have a purpose either.

As long as the adapter is tight grab a bolt from Lowe's/Home Depot. And some flat washers while your at it.
