So I just bought this and didn't realize it didn't come with any hardware. I know they sell one on their website, but it's $20 for it. Most of the standard bed rail nuts are in the size 3/8-16 which is too big for the mounting holes of the driveshaft mount. What do you guys use or did you just buy the rockymount hardware kit?

Considering everything I've ever seen from Saris was a wobbly heap of shit, I'd pass.

People weld a 2" receiver hitch to swingouts all the time for bike racks. Grinder and a little paint make it good as new.

I do think that's probably the ideal solution, but here's two other off the shelf options for others looking:

    Thule: https://www.amazon.com/Thule-963PRO...keywords=thule+spare+me&qid=1589328048&sr=8-1

Specs and stuff look good, but that weird cup looking bracket for the shock looks terrible IMO.

I ordered the same thing, but I’m using the hardware from a quick release rail mount I already had. Was worried about mounting it horizontally, but man it is SOLID.

Also you can get it cheaper from competitive cyclist if you sign up for their email list.

I like where this is going. I currently have a hitch mount but I know it's not exactly going to be user friendly once the camper is on and I have to climb in and out thru the back(even with the fold-down ability on the mount).

I may have to look into a used thru axle mount that I could fab up to the tire carrier. Mine is dual swingout, so I may only be able to fit one bike with the tire carrier being offset.

I feel like these would be the easiest solution for someone that's got a tire carrier that is centered. On mine, this would definitely hang the bike too far out past the side of the truck and these frame mounts tend to not fit dual suspension bike well.

The Yakima has an adapter bar of sorts for dual suspension bikes. But you’re right, they might stick out way too far with the offset tire.

edit: do you have any profile shots of that setup?
