I’m in the same boat, there are so many options....which is why I decided to go with a new gravel bike now and wait until later this year for a new trail bike haha

I recently got a Revolt Advanced 3. So far, so good, but I haven't gotten out on it as much as I would want to. The shop where I got it sells Salsa as well and I was originally looking at the Journeyman. The shop owner steered us towards the Revolt. I think that they mostly sell the flat bar Journeyman, and don't really stock the drop bar version. The shop owner rides a Revolt himself and said he rides everything from singletrack to triathlons on it.

Yeah I think it was 71.5 degree HTA? Don't quote me, but it's definitely a cross country bike and and older geo at that. Not my style of riding either, I didn't really think it climbed that great either. I immediately PR'ed almost every section of every trail after getting the SB130, even though it is a bigger, heavier bike. YMMV though, I'm not a CX guy.

Based on seeing you ride one weekend last year and you living in Raleigh, I think you'd have a ball on a modern geo, short travel 29'er. Something 100-120 in the rear, Fox 34 or equivalent up front. SB100, Hei Hei, Tall Boy.

The YT Izzo could be one to add in there. Looks pretty racy.

Nice! Thats the thing for me, I dont wanna spend that much on a secondary bike. I was also looking at the Giant Contend AR 2. More roady, but It can fit up to a 38mm tire which is plenty clearance for a gravel tire to be put on. One of my local shops is trying to steer me towards that but i want nothing to do with a metallic blue bike lol.

I love that greeeen on the Journeyman. But i think the Revolt is a better value --- Plus the dark grey on the Revolt 2 would match my Taco.

Well, the article is a joke. GnarCouch is the outdoorsy Onion written by an acquaintence. But Amazon is what you seek.

Also, I too just ordered a pair. Always looking for good clear lens options and Smith is always stocked out of the Wildcat which is what I was really looking for..

Need pics of bike to make that call. I went with the blue just for the black frame.

But in general, I'd say DO IT!

I think this thread alone has resulted in a surge in demand for these sweet specticals.

Well... since Trek sold me the lady version of my bike, I could match it to that. But if I’m being honest, I’m not secure enough in my masculinity to keep the lady bike and will more than likely return it for the men’s version. (Even though the only difference is the seat, bar width, and color).
