Trying to replace my carpet with an all-weather option. Doing some research, it looks like the all weather OEM flooring available for second gen access cabs has a cut out in the rear for a center console that the early second gens don't have. Does anyone know of any options for these early second gens?

Welcome aboard. Another option would be something like ACC offers on Rockauto. This is a mat that has most of the molding in place to fit the contours of the cab floor, but you will need to cut the holes for mounting the seats and such. I have installed one of these in a 2007 4Runner and it turned out really nice. I have the OEM all weather flooring in my trucks (pics in the thread posted above) and as a comparison, the ACC vinyl mat is much much thicker. I was impressed with the quality, it just takes a little more work to get it installed. I will say, if you have the old flooring you can use that as a template for your bolt holes, and that will make things much easier. You will also want to reuse the white edging pieces that attach it on the sides under the gray plastic trim. The ones on the stock flooring are stapled on I believe

I like the price on the ACC flooring, and the fact that it's considerably thicker than Toyota's option. The only thing I don't like is that, from the demo installation video posted on RockAuto's site, it looks like the base layer has a pretty glossy finish. Is the ACC stuff you installed glossy? If so, did it stay glossy over time or did the gloss tone down to a more satin appearance with oxidation & dust build-up?

The other think I like about the ACC flooring is that it looks potentially a lot easier to do a fairly thorough water proofing job on it, by using appropriate sealants both below and above most of the openings you cut in it for bolt holes, etc.

I just found this excellent series of install videos for ACC vinyl flooring in a 2nd gen DC Taco. Shows every single nut & bolt, wiring harness removal, relief cut, overlap, trim cut, etc. NB: Parts 2 & 3 are about him discovering & fixing old rust damage and water leaks. Pretty good workmanship & attention to detail. The actual vinyl install starts in Part 4.

The one thing I think he missed was trying to use a heat gun to get the vinyl warm enough to help form it into a couple of places.

Here's the link to the 4th video in the series in case the "playlist" link has died. (Locate the other 4 videos by trolling around in the guy - "KFlo's" - youtube channel.)
