You snooze, you lose I guess lol. All good though, and I appreciated the offer!

I'm good on the headlights, mine are in pretty good shape. Flooring is about the only thing factory that I need I think, at least at the moment

So I haven’t done shit or spent any money on this thing barely since the last update. I started working for myself back in September so I’ve been focusing and dedicating more money to that so I can get it going more.

But, the few things I have done have been cheap. I bought a cheap coolant resi on Amazon so I welded up a little mount for that which welds to the new core support, right next to the radiator. Also found some perfect radiator hoses at the local parts store, so those will be available anywhere, anytime if needed. So outside of 4 bolts I’ve yet to buy for the cooling fans, the cooling system is DONE.

I also got what I think is the last of the factory wiring done. And in cheap fashion, I repurposed an unused cable from a winch for the factory fuse box to the alternator (which has a new cable running from it, to the new battery location) so that will have constant power. I also reused some wire for the starter solenoid trigger wire that runs from the fuse box, along the power cables to the passenger side. I’ll finish that cable once I get a starter.

Oh and the brake booster is now connected to the manifold. I had to get a GM 90° check valve to fit the booster and have a barbed fitting for a 1/2” hose.

Congrats on working for yourself, I hope it works out for you!

Finally finished gusseting the front spring hangers

    IMG_1444.jpg IMG_1446.jpg

I’m considering making 1”-1.5” longer shackles for the front. It’s looking like I’m going to need to add some castor and bring the front up a tad to be more level

Decided to knock out the shackles on the front. Remade them from 3.75" to 5" and it kicked the caster to about 5 degrees, and will give me a little more uptravel. I'm much happier how everything is in the front now. Ordering shocks next week to finish that up

Finally found a muffler that I think I will be happy with, 22x11 stainless Street max, 3.5" in and out. It was the biggest muffler I could fit lol. It was only $120 from jegs and the few sound clips I found of it were pretty quiet. Ordering a couple of 45s to make the tailpipe dump out near the factory location next week as well.

Knocked out some bed stiffeners that I wasn't really even sure I needed. Easy project though and better to have them than not I suppose.

    Hmmm…
Funny I have the same size muffler just configured differently. It’s two 2.5” in and a single 3” out. I will also be adding two 14 x 5” round mufflers for resonators. The tail pipe will exit close to the stock location & will be a 3” hidden turn down.
I finally found someone who will TiG butt weld 304 Stainless for me. (Can’t weld nearly as good as you!) But I just have to fit it all together. I purchased some clamps that I’m drilling 7/8 holes in 3 locations. I will clamp the sections of pipe together and take it to the shop to have them weld it together. Todd I have a question for you. I’ll be hopefully installing the two 14 x 5” round resonators below the cab at the back of the cab. And the 5 x 11 x 22 at front of the bed, but I like to raise it up as much as possible.

If you’re asking if all that will fit, I think it will. I’d have to pull a tape under mind to verify

Oh, no. I know it will fit as I have an LCE header, a high flow cat, an 5 x 8 x 14 with 5 x 11 x 22 Magnaflow’s under my Reg. cab with hidden turn down in the OE location and it drones like an SOB with all this and the 2TR.
Nothing louder than a 4 banger. It was another reason why I dump the Magnuson supercharger. It was fun and all but I always wanted to LS Swap a Tacoma. I just hope it doesn’t wheel hop, I really don’t want to have to install a set of Cal Tracs. I wouldn’t mind doing what Ford did on the early Fox body Cobra’s.

No need to splurge on shocks when you’re on leaf springs

A lil bling for the exhaust. Near factory-ish exit but 3.5” and stainless

    IMG_1578.jpg

ordered a tru-cool brand 40k trans cooler on Amazon…. Took forever to get here, and when it did, it was clearly a knockoff. Whatever, eating the cost and running it anyway

Been quietly working on this thing lately, mostly just boring stuff. I only have Sundays to work on it at the moment...

    -roof sound deadener installed
-center console and gauge cluster pulled for powder coat
    -steering cooler and lines made
-radiator fan shroud completed with nutserts and reinstalled
    -transmission pulled for rebuild
-o2 sensor bung welded into drive side collector

Starter, flexplate, Scangauge 3, most brake lines, and charcoal canister are here and awaiting install. The next three big purchases are going to be the Harness (still :D), torque converter, and rear driveshaft. After that, I can get this thing cranked and the I will move on to the rear axle rebuild

The bumper you made up front is a piece of art. Why hide it under the unpainted ugly plastic cover?
