Got the frame plates knocked out today and started on mounting the floor frame. I will be slowing down with working on this until I get some other projects done.

Spent a couple days doing the wheel wells. They turned out pretty good for not really dealing with bending/forming sheet metal very often

    Thanks!

11 Gauge, so 1/8". Used it cause I had it laying around, and for a little added weight back there. The sides of the bed though will probably be something thinner, like a 16 or 18 gauge. 11 gauge will be going on the floor as well.

Do you have a sheetmetal break?

I do. It's small, it fits on my 20-ton press.

Haha, okay, not the kind of break I was thinking of. I was wondering where you had room for one. :D

That's one thing I really miss having access to...a good break...that and a shear. Those two things take up a huge amount of space but they are worth it because of how insanely handy they are if you mess with thin gauge sheetmetal at all.

haha, I rarely even use my press brake so the size is perfect for me. I would kill for a shear though, with how many stupid little brackets I find myself cutting, a shear would expedite that aspect of building stuff a lot and make life a lot easier.

    That turned out bitchin'.
Are you gonna use a spray on lining inside the 'new' wheel well?

Been thinking about using it both on the inside of the bed and underneath the bed and wheel wells. I just want something that will hold up though, I haven't had good luck with the few roll on/spray on bedliner coatings I've tried. I will have to research some others.

Got the floor in and about 40% welded. Would have finished it but I ran out of wire in the middle of a weld. No biggie though, I planned on going to Airgas tomorrow anyway for a tank refill.

I recycled the tool box frame from the old bed and cut an access hole in the bed floor for the fuel tank. If for any reason that I have pump or sending unit issues, I can just unbolt the four bolts holding down the toolbox and remove it for access to the tank. No need to drop the tank.

I actually did this on accident with the first bed.... I realized I could access the pump/sending unit as I was putting my toolbox in. I figured it was a good thing so I made sure to do it on this bed version intentionally
