Pretty much done minus the spindle for the hinge and pull-pin style latch. Hopefully I will have it installed on the truck by next weekend.

    Question:
What is your pinion flange angle versus the angle at the trans output flange?

I have severe driveline vibes... killin' me.

    Thanks.

Be sure you wash that mud off before it gets too dry. That shit at Hardrock dries into concrete. You'll be in there with a chipping hammer knocking the crap off if it dries out. :D

Front or rear? I'll check when I get home today from work.

Had to wait till I got home to get it off. I just threw a sprinkler under the truck for about an hour and it knocks most of that stuff off but if it doesn't, it loosens it up enough to knock it off with the sprayer on the hose.

... for the rear when you have time.

The rear has a Deaver 8 pack sitting on the OEM perches. Been fine for years. The cross member I made is off somehow.

    Thanks.

@Ritchie the pinion is pointed up about 10 degrees. My driveway is sloped so plus or minus a degree lol. It's almost pointed directly at the t-case output.

Hmmm, mine is too. Currently at an OEM angle of 77 degrees.
The output flange is @ 85, which I set with the new cross member to replicate the OEM angle there too.

    Dunno.

    Thanks for checking.

Spare tire carrier/tailgate is complete. I ended up using a tiregate hinge from ruffstuff and a poly bushing for the latch. The bolt in there now will be replaced with one of those red-handled pins (have to find one that is 9/16"). We will see how everything holds up because I have seen occasions where the vibrations and movement of the tire and tiregate will cause welds to fail from stress.

When the gate is open it sags 1/4", so I have to lift up on it to get it back in line with the bushing. This was expected and I don't see it as a big issue because it will be closed and latched 99% of the time.

    That turned out nice.
If there is no frame flex/ droop at the end, I'm thinking that the weight of the rim & tire are causing the 1/4" sag.

oh and I forgot to mention, that the rear leafs are starting to ride better now! With the added weight on the far rear of the truck, it is making the leafs a little softer. I still have to add some more stuff to finish up the bed so I figure that the ride will only get better from here.

Could you get a pic of your truck to show ride height (with some weight in the bed)? I'm liking the idea of just doing 63's for my rear leafs like yours if it'll get me high enough.

I don't have a pic with the bed loaded, but I just took this one with the new tiregate and spare tire hanging off the back. I can't remember the frame height but the truck is on 35s.

EDIT: found a pic with the old dovetailed bed with spare, full cooler, and full rubbermaid contained with camping supplies and tools. Also the toolbox is full of stuff. And this was before I lowered the front an inch

@allenfab Thanks. Is that the 3+overload pack? If you could post up frame height numbers that'd help too.

3 leaf with the overload cut down. 23" frame height at the body mount at the front of the door and at the rear spring hanger.
