Kinda like my bumper and the lack of paint. Hugo's getting married this weekend so I'mma have to wait a while. Gonna try to be patient but I might have @Rattletrap66 come over and help me take it off so I can get some primer on the back side at least (and install those resistors for my turn signals), lol.

I do have other stuff to keep me occupied, like replacing that door handle. Found what's supposed to be a genuine Toyota handle on Amazon for $58. I'll PM you the link if you want. I know you said you replaced yours with the cheap ones a few times. I also still have to install that door lock actuator I got from Kyle in the T4R. Might do those at the same time while I'm in the mucking about inside the door mind set. Kyle said the handle is an easy job, but I'm still dreading it. In my experience, nothing that requires the removal of the door panel and messing with the guts of the door is ever easy, lol. :p

Somehow, I see tube doors in the Q-tip's future. :D It's for sure a real trail rig now. Glad you weren't hurt, Todd.

I don't really want to do tube doors permanently. I am going to get another door for now and put it on and maybe do a set of tube doors later on so I can swap them out. I don't want to have to keep this thing in the garage and don't want to be covered in dust/mud when wheeling. That's why I got away from 4-wheelers

same to you man, next time I will def try to keep it on all fours haha. We will have to try and plan another ride later on in the year.

I hear dat. That's kinda what I was thinking...having a set that you can quickly pull some pins and swap out when you hit the trails up there. But yeah, that was always my main sticking point with tube doors...keeping all the crap out of the cabin and off me, lol.

I do find it hilarious as hell that that mirror survived unscathed and yet the door is so mangled.

If I was a foot further forward, the rock would have but the hoop of the cage and I would have had minimal door damage. Oh well, I should have a red door on this thing by the end of the day today :D

Ah, the Red Badge of Courage. :D Seriously, dude, it seems like you have as much misfortune as I do. I haven't rolled my shit...yet, but I've had enough close encounters with trees, rocks, and terrain to give the OGT plenty of dents. The only one that pisses me off is the newest one I got the other day when I brought home a trailer load of gravel and the wore out hitch popped off the ball, came up over the bumper and scraped a section of green paint off the bottom of the tailgate before it put a nice dent in the sheetmetal just below the passenger taillight. For some reason, trail damage doesn't bother me (I'm almost proud of it, it seems like), but everything else irritates the hell out of me, lol.

Lol I tell my wheeling buddies this all the time when they are removing doors off their Toyotas! If I wanted to wheel doorless I would have stayed in the Jeep game (rolls window back up to sit the ice cold AC on the trail). Is the glass still good and does the door handle still work? Can you take the panel off and pound the dent out?

Glad to see you liked AOP, I want to go back in the dry and hit the hard stuff, but what I did see was fun. Nice flop!! Wish I could have made this trip but such is life.

Looking at the rest of the carnage from AOP, body work doesn't seem like a bad trade off. It has me paranoid about Moab. Body damage I can live with. A grenaded rear diff, not so much.

Got to have a/c when wheeling, especially in Florida haha.

The window broke inside the door and the handle/latch was damaged to the point where I had to stick a sawzall blade in the doorjamb to cut the striker that bolts to the B-pillar. I tired to beat the dent back out too but it bend that stiffener bar that is inside the door to help with a side impact, and it wouldn't move.

I will take body damage any day over something mechanical, even though I trailer this thing to wheel. At least you could limp back home with a grenaded diff, as long as it is only one of them haha

Exactly. Limping in FWD from Utah to Florida would suck big time.

Depends on what grenaded. Both times I broke a rear diff, it locked the damn thing up and I could only move it in reverse. Both times it was the pinion gear that failed--once the bearing failed and the other time it ripped the threaded portion of the gear that holds the yoke on completely off the gear.

Pull the diff, pull the pinion (or whatever it may be that broke) and plug the hole it leaves and you’re golden. Jimbo had to pull the ring gear this weekend to get home
