Well, the first time it was the 8.8 in my F150 and it locked up literally right around the corner from the house so I just drove home it in reverse (the shitty part of that was I had just spent all night at the mudhole trying to get someone unstuck and then I had to go pull a Dana 60 axle and swap it out with my 8.8 with no sleep. The really sad part is the kid that was stuck--with his daddy's Blazer--was still stuck by the time we had the axles changed, and Daddy was on the scene and PISSED.)

The second time it was in my YJ with the dana 35 and it was about 1 AM and I was drunk as Cooter Brown. I literally drove it from the mudhole we were partying at in Masaryktown, in reverse, all the way to SR52 & US41 before my neck hurt so bad I decided to give up and call my mom to meet me there so I could use her AAA to get it towed home. It was a freaking miracle I didn't end up with a DUI that night. I did some really stupid shit when I was young. :anonymous:

    Trip report from AOP 4/20/18

No complaints really.... still have a mystery clunk that I pretty much don't even care about anymore. The LTB's did great aired down to around 8 psi, and the rock rings proved their worth with all the sharp rocks. The seats are worth every penny... Brian and I both stayed planted in them when the roll happened. I don't really have anything that I want to upgrade/change after this trip except to maybe play around with the traction bar shackle to see if that is what is clunking.

I hammered out the front fender and picked up a door from a 2000 Tacoma and threw it on for the time being. I pulled the Atlas yesterday to do a good inspection and to re-seal some things and change the fluid. That should be going back in by the weekend sometime.

I love that t-case/transmission "skid" slider thing you have. Did you build that or buy it?

Todd built pretty much everything on the truck that didn't come on it from the factory. At least with the exception of the mechanical units. Check back in this thread. Pretty much the whole build was documented. It's pretty cool.

As Lee said, I’ve built every single thing on here with the exception of the lower link brackets on the front axle, the front spring hangers on the rear, and the traction bar bracket on the axle

That's really cool! Thanks, just recently tuned into this build. Just thought that tube skid was a great idea

This thing is ridiculous in person. Doesn't even need to gas it to go up some obstacles, just idling....:turtleride:

Good to meet ya even for only a few trails haha

Atlas serviced and back in. Added a TMR support ring while in there.

Maintenance season is upon us. Starting off with a new “straight” tie rod and new ends. The driver side ball joints will be getting replaced as well. I will also be pulling the front diff armor and remaking that because the current one is pretty heavily damaged and bent up and into the diff cover.

What I really want to know: is that driver's side door still red?

That would be driving me nuts. I'd have to get out there with a rattle can and paint it white. :rasta:

Still red and it’s going to stay that way. Decided there was no sense in painting something that is going to get wrecked again
