Once I move into a house with an actual garage I'll be setting up a cnc plasma table. I did just pick up a 50amp plasma cutter to play around with free hand

I'm a safety manager and I hate that kind of shit. All that paper work does zero for safety, matter of fact you are probably unsafe after being in a pissed off mental state having to fill all that shit out. I really hate it when the peers in my industry throw paper work at things to "make them safe" when it does jack shit. Sorry safety guy rant off.

You’re exactly right though. I see it as being no different than jumping in your car and driving... you already know all the risks, you don’t need to remind yourself in writing daily. I’ve talked to others in the industry and the majority of them can’t believe at all the paperwork we have to do for someone in my position... I’m a fucking lowly welder, I’m not building nuclear warheads or anything lol

Yea, I mean I can see if you have to weld in a confined space, or some crazy alloy that you need a respirator for that you rarely work with filling out a JSA and permit, but evrey day?? Crazy.

And those are reasonable jsa’s to require. But me writing down that I need to wear gloves, sleeves, and a hood when welding is just stupid lol

I am. Motor/transmission and all wiring and pretty much everything under the hood have been sold. Going to keep axles, suspension, and all the steering stuff for another project down the road

Plans are another 1st gen tundra. Wanting to go back to something less extreme, so planning on putting the axles and most all of the suspension from this under it, keeping it as low as possible, and probably move down to 35s. Stock transfer case and factory interior. Bumpers/sliders and obvious stuff like that

Yea those tundras have piqued my interest as well. I'm torn between building one of those, a 4runner or frame swapping my tacoma since I only have a few years left on my frame.

You forgot to include the RTT and traction boards.

I’ve had two of them, one on tons. They’re great trucks, pretty much Tacoma’s with factory V8’s. I’m mostly just bored and wanted to start another build honestly lol

What traction boards do you recommend? I know you’ve tried them all and swear by them

The cheapest ones you can find on Amazon. They’re only there for IG likes anyway.

Got a lot of stuff lol
Someone say tacoma with a factor v8 lol

Thats pretty much my goal too; V8 reg cab with a front solid axle. Just going to take some time for the 4wd swap since the v8 took so long. I need to just go drive it more first.
