I guarantee you they will be selling like hot cakes the first 6 months, just like the GM twins did. Just by the people in here lining up to pay MSRP and place orders on trucks they know little about there is clear evidence you can expect to pay more at first.

I agree I'm sure they will go fast.
And even when GM was selling these strong at first the tacoma was out selling the twins 2 to 1.

The interior of the Colorado feels cheap to me.

They can add the leather to anything. No idea if Toyota is adding real leather to any other packages than Limited, or if it's going to be their factory fake-leather. Gulf States adds real leather, with a lot more options than the factory does.

No idea on delivery - we don't have a manufacturing date yet. Since we do know the line starts up toward the end of August and the truck doesn't have to go through that rail delivery hassle, I would think mid- to late-September delivery would be reasonable.

PM me if you want more details about ordering, but please make sure you go through Nassir for the best price and quickest delivery.

Do you know if the turn radius on the Double Cab long bed is going to be different than Gen 2?

I wish Toyota would hurry up and put the thing on their website with the packages and different options.

I went and sat in one today and agree. When you push the button for the interior light the whole headliner moves, same for the knob next to the 4-wheel drive selector (that part of the dash moves, not the headliner obviously). I wasn't impressed. The '15 Tacoma interior looks ancient, but the quality felt much
    better comparatively speaking.

    latest update for me.

#1 & #2 Tacoma's for my dealer have been restricted to what they send them. allocations for sale wont open up until mid august for my dealer.

put in my request for a Blazing Blue TRD Sport D Cab with FE, FP, MU. also requested black tube steps, paint protection film, tow package, exhaust tip and NO bed cover. I will put a access cover on since I don't like the hard tri-fold OEM version.

decided to skip the limited as the FP on the sport is pretty much the same as a limited. the warden liked the egg crate grill on the Sport vs the Limited.

I have been calling a few local dealers and I just received some disappointing news. I don't know that I believe it though. The salesman told me that they would only be allocated one vehicle at a time and that any dealer who tells you differently is lying. He claimed that they sell the most Tacoma's in his region. From Ft. Walton Beach, FL over to Mobile, AL. There are 5 dealers spanning that area. This was Eastern Shore Toyota in Daphne, AL. The dealership is massive. I am not sure how often Toyota will be allocating vehicles but he said they most likely won't have any 16's actually sitting on lots until the Spring. Has anyone heard something different?

Nope, that's exactly what my dealer told me too. Then the inventory manager went into the system and changed the configuration of the one that was slated to come to them so it would be built the way I wanted it. That way, I still get the truck I want while also getting the first 2016 to come to Austin.

As for not getting 2016s on the lot until spring, I think he's full of crap. At the rate that they can build them, the only reason he wouldn't have any 2016s is that they're sold prior to delivery.

No he did not but he did mention that they still cant keep them on the lots. I looked at their inventory and they had quite a few available. One I probably would have bought, had the 16's not been all new.

Sounds like to me that he was your typical bullshitting salesman.

The salesman told me that they would be keeping their first one for display. Did your dealer give you any sort of idea what the time is between allocations?

I have a $500 deposit and it should be at the dealer at the end of september or early October. I am getting a TRD Sport DCLB with the Moonroof package in Blazing Blue. I have the option to drive the truck and come to terms on pricing with the dealer. I also have the option of getting my deposit back if I decide not to buy the truck. One of the dealers in my city has been advertising pre orders for the Tacoma while the rest have nothing mentioned on their websites.
As far as having not having trucks on the lot till spring. I think he meant because of the demand that when they get a Truck it will be sold almost immediatly until supply can exceed demand, which could be in the spring.

Nope. He just goes into the computer and sees what Big Brother has given him.

That's my truck, minus the $500 deposit. I also added chrome tubes, all the interior electronic goodness (Entune, NAV, JBL), and the tonneau cover.

I am 50/50 on the running boards. I don't really need them but am going to wait to see if the kids have any trouble getting in the truck without them. I will decide then. I am also getting a tonneau cover just never mentioned it.
