Hey there. I've been lurking on these forums for about a month now. Last month I bought my first Toyota. In the past ten years, I've owned a 94 Nissan pickup, and a Chevy Silverado.

I am very excited to own a Tacoma. I drive a different truck for work, so I get sad when I don't get to drive my truck that much during the week.

I've already done some minor mods to the truck. I'm just not sure if I should post them here in the "New Members" thread or in the "2 Gen" board.

Thanks. I really like it too. My biggest debate when I was thinking of buying it was that it was blue (and the dark blue). I live in the SW and it is sunny and hot. In the summer, the cab can get real close to 150+ degrees. A lighter shade (white, or silver) would definitely help with the inside temps.

My other issue that I need to address is the 8 year old paint. Since I bought the truck used, I don't know if the truck spent it's entire life in the desert or not. There is some oxidation on the hood already. I need to go ahead and combat that early.

I'm also thinking of plasti-dipping the hood (inbetween the plastic rails) white or gray to help combat the heat and oxidation. This would be the easiest, quickest fix. At least it'll put a "freeze" to the oxidation.
