Standard Base, White 4-banger, automatic, steel wheels. No frills! Would like to jazz up the wheels with alloys.
I just purchased a super-clean 2008 Tacoma Base Standard Cab with the intention of replacing the factory steel wheels with slightly-larger alloys and tires. I did not realize that the Base model is 5-lugs vs. the "fancier models" which are six. It appears that my options are limited. I do nit want to convert this little pickup to anything unusual, just looking to add some more attractive wheels/tires that fill out the wheel wells.

I read that RAV4 wheels have the same 5-lug, 5 x 4.5" bolt pattern. Will an after market wheel made for a RAV4 with the same pattern fit on my Tacoma Base? Also, what size tire can I get away with on, let's say, a 16 x 7 inch rim, without lifting, etc. No other mods planned at this point.

Thank you very much for any information that can help me solve this mystery!

    Hi and welcome!
I'd do some looking in the 5 lug forum that is here on Tacoma world. Roadkill customs website has a bolt pattern cross reference page that has a lot of info also.
Hub bore and backspacing (offset) are important also.
    Congrats on your truck.
