who is running allpro “expos” and has a long term review they would like to share. Not much available when searched. I am aware of poor customer service but won’t be dealing with them for perchase so I am not concerned. I will be weighted with a cap and gear and it’s either this or Dakar hd’s. In my neck of the woods Dakar’s squeak like mad and I don’t want to deal with that at all. So please chime in if u have them and for how long. Also if you would run them again given what u know now. Please help if u can, really need the info. Thanks in advance.

I've been running Expos on my 04 for almost a year, they don't squeak at all like my old Dakars did but I do get some knocking from the bushings. I don't think that's an issue with the Expos though as much as it is the Daystar bushings I used.

I will say though I haven't been too impressed with their load capacity at least on my 1st gen...with a bed rack, RTT, 2 full jerry cans and maybe 100lbs of camping gear they sag a good inch and a half. I'm thinking of adding an AAL to mine.

Thanks for the info, did u find without a load they were at the advertised height of 4”? Guessing that you are around 2.5” now with weight and settling? Also what shocks are you running? Having run both these and the Dakar’s which would you buy if you were to do over again? Really appreciate your real life experience with them!

Yeah with the bed rack and RTT on all the time I'm sitting at about 2.5"...maybe 2" when I'm loaded with camping gear or 1.5" if it's really heavy. I'm running Icon 2.0s with reservoirs in the rear, they're advertised for 0-3" of lift so they work well.

Before this, I had Dakars with an AAL and they couldn't hold the weight even with the AAL, and they squeaked like no one's business. Honestly if I were to do it again, I would do a custom leaf pack from Alcan or Deaver and give them the specs on my truck and have them build out the perfect setup for me. But that's $$$$

The Expos are much better than the Dakars, I'll give them that. Although the Dakars rode much more softly, the Expos are pretty stiff. But that's the compromise for having leaf springs that will hold weight.

I've been running allpro expos for 5 months now. I have over 10k miles on them so far with experience with fully loaded bed, towing a 4000# TT, fully loaded bed + towing a 3000# pop up, riding empty, and offroading when moderately loaded.

One of the best things that helps me are my CDCV rear shocks. I'm able to control the compression valving depending on the load out so it helps manage the expo pack and keep the ride quite comfortable. The CDCV of my rear shocks is what helps me get the most out of my expo pack.

I do recommend replacing the All Pro bushings and bushing sleeves with a quality pair from energy suspension. The all pro bushing sleeve is just a rolled piece of metal so there is a seam that will bind, click, make noise when the suspension flexes so replacing that with a solid piece will remove a lot of rear pack noise.

They get surface rust very easily. Within 1 day after a rain this past winter, surface rust. I spray down the pack with fluid film which helps prevent further surface rust and prevents squeaks.

I run the timbren bump stops which I fully recommend. Although it is an expo leaf pack, it is still quite flexy so you will be contacting your bump stops. I recommend at least the timbrens or upgrade to a hydro bump stop.

Yes, at empty, you will be riding at 4 inches of lift so make sure you have extended shocks as well as extended rear brake lines and a carrier bear drop.

I have the most faintest hint of driveline vibrations when empty. They do go away when loaded.

I am very happy with their performance, weight carrying capacity, and flex when offroading.

Big $$$ for me as I live in Canada so the above options are all I can play with at this tm. I am guessing you would say all pro over Dakar’s then having used both?

I would yes, the only advantage the Dakars had was ride quality...they're very soft springs and rode great on the street. But offroad when loaded with gear they would ride on the bump stops which is no fun at all. The Expos are stiffer but that's the price you pay for higher load capacity springs.

Like @Bishop2Queens6 mentioned the Expos do get surface rust easily...I live in Southern CA where rust is pretty much unheard of but mine have a lot of surface rust in some spots. I hit them with some Rustoleom just to clean them up every now and then.

Thanks for your experience and recommendations. I plan on using my existing air bags and daystar cradles with these springs to help out if needed. I am not loaded all the time but always run a canopy, full-size spare, high-lift, axe, shovel, chain saw. Rooftop tent and awning for overnighters. I currently have toytec boss shocks 0-3” that I will run till I feel the need to upgrade them.

As long as you have at least a couple hundred pounds over the rear end at all times then the Expos will be okay on the street ride quality-wise. If you have an empty bed and no weight they'd probably be unbearably stiff.

Dont waste your money! 2 years of use... supposedly these can run 500lbs consistently (I’m running 400lbs) rtt and bed rack.

Completely rusted, negative arch, my bump stops are almost touching the frame, causing my driveshaft to vibrate now. BS

Sent a couple emails to all pro seeing if they would have some sort of apology for their crappy product but nothing. This just pisses me off, my hard earned money down the drain. I won’t buy anything from them again. Their lack of ownership just says it all.

I ordered Deavers, sure they’re 300$ more but I haven’t heard anything bad from them yet, no sagging stories like all pro. Do it right the first time and save yourself the headache and time.

    *rant over

Edit: They have flattened way before the 2 year mark, they’re only now starting to disrupt other components on my truck, driveline vibe and leaking pinion seal on the third member.
