I was driving behind him at around 40-45 MPH with a distance of 3-4 cars between us.
I am conditioned to, when I see RED light in the back of a vehicle, to touch the brake. Did not see any red light, distance between us was getting shorter very fast and had to slam on the brakes. Twice!. First I thought I didn't pay attention, second time I realized why!
His black "homie" tail lights covers were so dark, were blocking the red light.
LOOKS COOL BUT DO NOT BLOCK YOUR REDS!

It’s all in being cool. Should have pulled up along side of him and showed him he’s number one.

I hate that shit. Hopefully he’ll get stopped for it.

That's a quick way to get pulled over, along with driving with no headlights in the rain, fog, and at night, as well as tossing your cigarette butt out the window.

Pfft! Around here, folks run with the tinted cover and burnt out bulbs. I have been missing state inspections since I moved here.

Had the same thing today, his 3rd highmount was strobe so it was more visible in his eyes.

Tinted tail lights is the dumbest thing to come out of the street car movement

Another dumb thing is tinting the head lamps. I don't get it?

Come on down to Tucson, this shit is the norm, along with mattresses and trash heaps piled over bed sides not tied down, bro dozers with 12 inch wide wheels on 37's with no mudflaps tossing rocks at you. And to whoever mentioned the cops pulling them over, they must not live in Arizona, because this stuff is pretty common and unchecked at least down here in little Mexico, I mean Tucson. Cannot wait to be out of this sh*t hole. End rant.

I don’t have an issue with someone using a smoked tail light as long as they are led. It’s the same brightness as a factory light with a halogen bulb honestly. Now tinting head lights, that’s a different story.

Not just Tucson that’s AZ in general outside of the Sedona/Flagg area. I lived in Scottsdale for a while and I think all that heat makes people start to lose their minds/manners.

i think i kinda would support making brake lights and turn signals illegal. After the carnage was over, the conditioning to lights would probably go away.

I don’t understand why anyone would blackout their taillights, seems you are asking for trouble.

When i was in Puerto Rico this was the norm, people would actually pull the wiring, or have a switch in the cab for their tail-lights so they could run from the cops at night. had to be super careful on the roads there.. lots of stories of insurance scams, and carjackers, as well as robbers on the road.. rule was if the car still drove.. keep driving.. can dont get sucked into the road rage... call 911 while driving.

I was behind a guy yesterday who was driving an automatic with two feet. Brake lights on the whole time and only went off twice in the 10 miles I was behind him.

Doesn't even look cool, it looks dumb. If you have his plate send the local police some pictures and hopefully they have time to pay him a visit.

It's just a matter of time before they are pulled over and told to remove/fix it.

In VA you’ll get pulled over for just a slightly tinted license plate cover even if you can easily read them. This guy would have been locked up and the key thrown away here. Lol!
