So yes I know the search function and how to use it, but damn man info overload and I think I've gong further from what I was looking at then when I started, so here it is just looking for some guidance when it comes to lifting, I know for the rear I want to go Dakar, I do haul and tow from time to time more hauling then towing and load the bed near max oncea month or so. So if I'm correct that will add 2.5 inch lift, clearly I'll need some shocks n coils for the rear and front, so billies all around? I'd like to get a full 3 inch lift in front without a spacer since it'll be a harsher ride. So n o billies? Or yes with say 885x coils? This is where my head starts to hurt, just looking for a little rake or truck to sit level. Also ride smooth as can be with the Dakar rear leaf pack for added hauling capacity n less chance for saga n yes UCA's will be purchased to make sure alignment isn't an issue... Sorry if it's jumbled info over load.

885s up front are good, Dakars in the back will provide decent load support while still providing a good ride. I would suggest a set of Timbrens for the rear for those times you really load up the bed. They will help prevent you from sagging too far and damaging the springs, as well as stabilize the load.

Well still cant figure out the set up id like, I want a full 3 inches no spacers and like stated above a lift for the rear with a gain in bed capacity or at minimum stay the same as stock. My price mass out around 1800 or give or take a little extra.

Get 885's and OME shocks , put the OME trim packer on the driver's side and a 1/4" top plate spacer on each side

    This ^^^

if you put on 886x coils you'd have a harsh ride (unless you have a plate front bumper)

Sounds good, I hate the idea of a spacer but I guess that small of one won't be to rougha. Ride? I do some off reading but no rock crawling, looking for a little more clearance and I do mostly highway driving. Sounds like a plan thank you guys so much for the input

I read on this forum that 887x gives you more lift than the 885x but same spring rating. Does anyone know if this is true. I think they stated the 887x was for 4 runners but worked on Tacomas.

Hey, just wondering which timbrens people suggest for second gen tacomas? I looked on wheelers, not much info on install either-just bolt on to frame correct?
