Hey guys, I’m writing a forum for an issue that has came up with my set of alpha Rex nova series on my 2014 Tacoma. I haven’t really read any forums with this particular problem in which I already contacted them for a warranty however no response from them which for the price of these headlights is a bad look on them. The issue started about 4 months after I bought them which was around a year ago that I bought these headlights. I was driving back from Utah when I noticed my front driver side headlight was off and wouldn’t turn back on. I contacted alpha Rex right away and they said it was most likely the fuses which I replaced and didn’t solve the problem so they offered a replacement which ended up working….. for about another 4 months. This time both my passenger and driver side headlights decided to give out. Now I’m thinking these headlights are well over $1000 and to be having these problems something isn’t right. So I took them off and took a look inside to find a box that is supposed to be taped was hanging and had wires disconnected so I taped it back into place and connected all the wires which seemed to do the trick again… for another couple weeks. After this I found the box to be falling again over and over and at one point taping it wasn’t a solution anymore, what I had to do was open the back part of the headlight and stick my hand in there to move the wires around until they would turn back on. Now fast foward to about 2 weeks ago I was driving from Las Vegas to Los Angeles in the middle of the night when in pitch dark desert they turned off on me and wouldn’t turn back on. Being in the middle of the desert in the night I did not have the right tools to take them off so I was forced to drive the rest of the trip on my fog lights. Being frustrated with these headlights at their price I took them to a wiring professional in which he confirmed my suspicion. Internal wiring issue and mentioned these are very likely problems with projector headlights and I should stay away from them. Knowing my mistake now in even wanting to spend this much money on these headlights I’m trying to now go back to regular halogen headlights and am writing this to warn others to not do the mistake I made. I’m trying to contact alpha Rex however I had heard already that their support is shit and won’t respond sometimes which I think is the case here. I might not be able to warranty them but atleast so they know they have a problem and maybe fix them in the future. Below I have attached some photos that shows the drive side headlight in Utah not turning on, and some photos I got yesterday of both not turning on. DRL works just fine but the main headlight won’t both in low and high beam.
