Alpha Rex tail lights

1000% I’m in soon as they are out.

 

@MESO you did a killer LED headlight mod with glass projectors a couple years back. Just curious, how do the new OEM LED headlights compare with those? Have you done a comparison?

 

Now the question I have is… are they going to be tinted (no fugly chrome! Lol) I'll wait for something you build especially with quality of work I've already seen.

That was enough to get me to hit pause on buying Alpha Rex heads and tails...
I do like the appearance of the Alpha Rex 4 ice cube lights vs 3 on the Morimoto lights though. Plus the blacked out look.
Thats about it though, I just assumed performance would have been similar between OEM, Alpha Rex, and Morimoto.

 

QUESTION:
How many people prefer the RED lens VS the CLEAR lens on tail lights?

 

^ I was just sort of debating that internally before reading this thread.
For my truck, I would shoot for clear, dark, smoked, monochrome palette (no actual chrome of course). Kind of a grey-black target for my exterior.

Red lens, with darker colored accents. For example I think alot of people dislike the newer (2021) gen 3 tacoma taillights due to them having those chrome colored strips in them. The red 2016 ones look way better imo.

 

Agreed; I would have been way happier with the TRD Pro heads and tails. Just chrome delete all the things.

 

Same. Love how the TRD Pro taillights have that blackout or smoked out look to them, vs the chrome in regular TRDs.

 

Agree on the chrome getting the axe. I like either the clear or red lenses but I really do hate smoked lenses. I think it looks cheap to be honest. These meso taillights are exciting news!

 

Well the PRO has clear lens. The TRD and all other models are RED lens.
Chrome is going to be deleted regardless

 

Anything for the ‘05-‘15?

 

This is why I read this forum. I was considering AlphaRex lights before reading this (and seeing the pictures from the other forum). After reading the mega thread on headlights, I’ll probably just upgrade my halogen bulbs.

MANNNN the headlights I got from them blew in fuse in my truck and then low beam stopped working. TRASH

 

sorry man that sucks, maybe Tacomabeast will get their crap together and pull them from their shop. Same with retrofit source and the others everyone needs to tell alpharex to go back to the drawing board or get out of the market.

 

That being said, Morimotos have seem to be have been the only good headlights for our Tacomas
