Having a bit of a bizarre issue with my alpharex pro tail lights if anyone can help shed some light I’d greatly appreciate it. Truck has Moritmoto Gen 2 LED headlights. Tail light functions completely as expected. EXCEPT when the hazards are on and the brakes are applied. Drivers side will stay illuminated solid while passenger continues to flash as normal. Once I come off the brake pedal it resumes flashing as normal. Every other function of the lights works as expected. I’ve switched the polarity of all the plugs around in every combination as well as swapped lights from side to side. Issue persists on drivers side. If I unplug the middle plug on either side they both will flash but once all are plugged in the drivers side will stay solid. Leads me to believe it’s one of those funky LED light issues. Both tail lights come with resistors in them. Not sure if another resistor would help fix the issue? Such a miniscule issue that it’s not a huge deal but if I could fix it I would like to. Any input is appreciated. Thank you!

What did alpharex say when you contacted them about this problem regarding their lights?

That they haven’t heard of an issue like this before, so they’re sending me a replacement drivers side unit. Which I greatly appreciate, I’m just not expecting it to fix the issue since when I swap the drivers light to the passenger side the unit works as intended

Update: got the new replacement. Does the same thing the previous one did. Except now it’ll flash like one or two times out of every 10, not sure how to proceed. My try wiring in an extra resistor? Or does this sound like it already has too much resistance?

Did you ever find a solution to this? I have a similar issue.

Nope never found a solution. Was gonna try to wire up a resistor and see if that helped but never got around to it and now I just live with it

I saw on YouTube this is a known issue because hazards and brake use the same lights

Ah I see, I still might try to wire a resistor and let you guys know the results. I honestly chalked it up as something to live with until I splurge on a new set of those tacomabeast infinity tails lol

Wouldn't that also cause issues with using a turn signal and braking as well? Serious question, I know nothing about these lights.

That’s interesting because I actually don’t think I experience that issue. My problem is strictly isolated to the 4-ways. Turn signal works when braking however theres no “brake light” on that side that’s flashing so I supposed I guess I may experience that issue? Not sure. Probably gonna upgrade soon anyway lol

I have similar issues, but in addition, the hazard lights work only when the truck is on. It also caused several errors on my dash; brake light is on, stability control, pre-collision light...

I’ve seen that when the dash lights come on that indicates that it’s popped a fuse. I’ve seen that happen on these trucks caused by numerous aftermarket tail light brands. FWIW, I eventually pulled these tail lights off my truck entirely and went with a set of TRD Pro tail lights and have no issues and think it looks more sophisticated. Best of luck!

I currently have the issue with my Alpharex tail lights where when I have either the hazards on or my right turn signal on and press the brake, the turn signal stops working and does not illuminate. I also did have hyper flashing issues on that side as well but haven't had that for a few months now so Im not sure what triggers/ triggered it. I saw tacoma beast has these resistors and was curious if maybe that could solve either mine or anyone else's issues mentioned above.

I still haven't found a solution to mine. Only the left side (front and rear) work when the vehicle is turned off and the hazard lights are on. I reached out to Tacoma Beast and they were going to replace them. But after considering the shipping cost and the wait time, I decided to keep the ones I have. I bought the TRD PRO tail lights, but they are not bright enough. I live in a area where it gets really foggy, and visibility is very low.

I’m also having this issue with the Pro Version 6800010. Haven’t tried the hazards but when turn signal on, left or right, and braking you can not tell signal is on. The brake lights override. I’m waiting on a reply from Alpharex. Hopefully with more people complaining about this issue they will find a resolution.
