I have put in Racesport gen3 leds I'm the process of doing a custom audio overhaul which will include Hybrid audio unity 6x9 mid bass, unity 3 inch mid driver in the dash and fiberglassing tweets in pilar soundeading all the doors, floors, and headliner and I will be using a helix processor to retain the factory radio and as far as subs I might make custom brackets to move rear seat foward a few inches to get a full size sub in there or I might just go with a pair of jl tw5 or tw3 and it will all be powered by jl audio HD amps or I might try out the new hybrid amps
Well I promise you it would be worth it I have customers drive down from San Diego for me to work on their Tacoma’s not to brag but I am really really good with tacomas. I am in Napa Valley so he would come down for the weekend get a hotel and go winetasting while I get their system dialed in

Sounds nice but we don’t drink wine but good to know …. What’s a good radio you recommend for the Tacoma to keep all the factory stuff?

If you want floating screen alpine f509 and idatalink harness and if the installer boss a couple tricks you can get the screen all the way up against the dash, if you want big screen but flush with dash pioneer 9” radios with idatalink harness and if you want a big screen stinger hieght10 bows not retain as much as datalink harness does yet, but they will be releasing a update soon to retain oem feature with there own harness similar to idatalink if you want a regular double din I’d do kenwood excelon dmx907xr and if you want cd/dvd I’d do kenwood excelon ddx9907xr

Yes I Personally don’t think they look good in the tacomas but they fit no problem

I know this page/thread is old the place I got my linkswell touch screen installed is replacing it with a Alpine ILX-f511 my question is does it have steering wheel control?
I read the online manual it only states carplay steering wheel controls?
    What am I missing?

The alpine does not have integrated steering wheel controls like the links well you would need to buy a separate piece like a pac swi-cp2 or you could use a idatalink maestro harness and that will retain everything

hey man, so I’ve hooked up my alpine halo f511. I’m trying to put a brake bypass. Would you happen to know which wire is the e-brake? I have a 2020 Tacoma non-jbl

    thanks

I like the Stinger Heigh10. The install kit makes it look like it belongs there.

but this Stinger Heigh10 is still a wired carplay/android where the iLX models are wireless.

Yes it's wired. I haven't got a wireless adapter yet to test though.

Just starting to do my homework on aftermarket head units. Really like the finished look of the Heigh 10. Pre 2020 would be huge but going from wired CarPlay to wired CarPlay doesn’t feel like an upgrade..

What accessories mounting system are you using?

I've got that DMM mount with their cell phone holders.

Understandable with the wired to wired move. But you do get multi-camera function without adding a multi-cam kit. Just need the cameras, the rest is built in. I did add an XM tuner. So that also remained.

Has anyone has issues with the Halo 9 and getting the back up camera to function properly? When I’m in reverse the camera shorts out and isn’t a clear picture

How is the phone volume? I saw there was an issue with folks trying to use the phone and couldn’t hear the callers. I think they were going to come out with a firmware update but not sure if as of now they did. Im looking for something for my 2017 and this Stinger is catching my eye
