Anyone have any experience with the tuneit app? Can the halo take the place of a dsp?

Did anyone get the camera to turn automatically on when you put it into reverse? Mine doesn't. I think I need to hook up the reverse wire from the Alpine unit to the reverse tail light to get that to happen. But I'm not sure where the reverse light + lead is in the cabin, can anyone point me to it. I don't want to run a wire to the tail.

Also, any tips to getting all those wires to fit into the dash? I have a 2015 TRD Off Road, and was just barely able to get it all in there. I'm afraid to take it apart. LOL.

I just can't get over the non-OEM (tv hanging on wall at home) look this unit gives off. Is there any alternatives that are flush and look more natural?

I'm getting ready to start this, getting the amps installed under the seats, sub in, speakers, then tackle the head unit and hook the amps up maybe next weekend or later. Thanks for the posts of explanation so far.

I've downloaded the TuneIt app, will post how well it works when I get that far.

I finally got mine all dialed in with my F309 on the JBL. It really wakes up the factory system. Everything works except for the factory phone mic.

Looks like my stock mic isn't working either. I thought I saw somewhere that stock mic would work with the appropriate adapter. I think I got the adapter from iDatalink. Is anyone else able to use the stock mic?

The TuneIt app doesn't seem to do anything that you can't do on the head unit. I was hoping it would use the phone mic to set the speaker distances from the driver's sitting position.

Did you get a mic to work? Did the stock mic ever work? I picked up the adapter but it doesn’t seem to be working. Not looking forward to tearing everything apart and installing the Alpine mic if I don’t have to.

Yes the issue was the alpine mic plug in the back of the unit wasn't wired correctly from the manufacturer. They sent me a new one and all was good. And no the factory mic WILL NOT work.

I am so happy and impressed with how texting works with this thing (carplay). So much happening with this HU I really need to do some more reading on it.

I will say that the tune it app and the tuning configuration has been a horrible experience so far. I wish it was easier to find good presets, i have gone through about 100+ searching and some come close but nothing is sounding right. Looks like ill be busy this weekend.

I haven’t started to fine tune this yet. I still need to set the clip levels of the amps, then start playing around with all the settings. Even without changing anything it sounds much better than stock but even just a speaker change improved that.

Going to be a busy weekend for me getting it together. I know the results will worth the trouble.

Has anyone done a bit of off roading with this display? Any issue with vibration or concern?

0D6847D0-53D9-4EEE-9250-C4EE81F87F70.jpg I’ve had it for 2 days and I’m liking it a lot!! I didn’t wanna mount it up too high but tried to keep it around eye level.. it can be seen from the front but unless you know what it is, you won’t know what it is haha, I used metal brackets to mount it so cut the vibration(bouncing) to a minimum, although I haven’t taken off-road on bumpy roads the shaking isn’t noticeable..
