Going from BMW M240i to Tacoma was a bit of a techie shock.
The Alpine head unit looks amazing and is very intuitive.
    Resolution is acceptable.Alpine_ILX950_1.jpg Alpine_ILX950_2.jpg Alpine_ILX950_3.jpg

Very nice, I've been contemplating if I should replace my headunit with this too.

Any chance you have a shot from the side so I can see the gap between the unit and dash?

It does not connect to OBD port. It comes with Maestro RR with takes all the info from the vehicle much like the OBD would.
It also has a HDMI input so i can watch Netflix, etc. off my phone. I replaced cigarette lighter port to support HDMI/usb. And yes you can mirror your phone.Alpine_ILX950_4.jpg

Looks awesome! Have you done any spirited or offroad driving with it? I’d be concerned with shaking/rattling if you can comment on that?

doesn't look off-road friendly. can't imagine that thing taking big impacts when landing on sliders or skids during hard trails. hopefully, I'm wrong

I'm doing a similar install with a Kenwood unit. I think I may want to replace the cigarette lighter with an HDMI/Aux adapter like you have done. Can you tell me how you wired it? I know the HDMI cable will plug into the back of my HU, but because the USB port will go to the one that also has the Aux port (the one with the cover), how do I get the USB port that comes with the HDMI to work? Thanks!

You also went from something not so reliable to something way more reliable!
