    She does, a little smaller and fluffier, less than a year old, her and D were great together.

    Big fire that night thanks in part to @Julie Andrew's love of the use of the word "fell" as a verb.

    The trip looks sick!!! I got a question about black bear pass, how narrow is the trail? I have a Tacoma with the all pro long travel with fiberglass and 35's. Will I be to wide for the trail? Thanks and thanks for posting up the awesome pics!

    @09blacktaco was on the trip.
    I think his setup is the same as yours.

    Here he is negotiating the tightest turn in the switchbacks.....

    Not a problem, nice truck! Black Bear will be no problem, not any harder than any of the other ones you have already ran, and the shorter wheelbase will help you out on the switchbacks.

    Poughkeepsie, I probably wouldn't recommend taking the Wall option, we didn't take the bypass so I don't know what it is like, but the Wall and the section after will probably beat up your underside pretty good, a few rocker hitters as well.

    I don't know if I would say doable, all but one of us had to winch up, but your truck would be less likely to take a damaging hit.

    A small handful of select mods.
    I second this reply. I sat on the wall Saturday of FJ Summit with IH8MUDD as the winch point and Woody was the spotter. Very few made it up on there own myself included. And I am locked in he rear with 35's. So yes you won't damage as much with armor but I think front and rear lockers are the key to get up it.

    But you could do it as is now if you take the bypass route.

    So on black bear it seems the biggest issues are width of vehicle in some narrow spots of the trail ( but a 2nd gen with +2 long travel got through), and turning radius on the switchbacks ( take your time, use spotter and use as many point turns as necessary)? Most Tacoma's should make it through black bear correct?

    Easily. I would think most problems are a result of a loose nut connecting the seat to the steering wheel.

    LOL. There weren't really any spots on the whole trip where width was an issue or at all sketchy that I recall.

    After making it up Hurricane, headed back up California, down through Animas Forks, again, then down to the turn up to Stony Pass, and up Stony Pass.

    From the top of Stony, the last offroad pass we would conquer on the trip, we headed down to the headwaters of the Rio Grande, one of the longest rivers in the US. We setup camp in a beautiful open field with 360* views, I went out and caught a few Rio Grande Cutthroat trout, then back to camp for great lighting as the sun went down, mandatory fire, and drinking shenanigans.

    The last day of the trip, we packed up camp, and headed up to Kite lake, a fun muddy trail without too many obstacles, but more great scenery and a fun water crossing that may or may not have resulted in an almost drowned motor :bananadead: @Night Eagle
