air box mod in a ranger is removing the siphon tube that reaches to behing the headlight. The diameter of the throttle body is 4 inches, the diameter of the intake tube is 4 inched but this siphon plugs this 4 inch intake and takes it down to 2 inches so your engine feeds off less oxygen which = less gas in mix which = less HP, so you remove this siphon/silencer tube and your airbox chugs in air and not to mention sounds incredible when you really get on it (over 3000 rpms)

yea, not home made in a ranger but may have to be in a taco idk, in ranger it was as simple as removing two bolts, a little muscle, and removing a lego-like part and reinstall 2 screws, done, so easy, it is a little stronger, and sounds like a cat back system at high RPM's

There is a mod for the tacos but they call it a deck plate mod, but its more for the first gens (95.5-2004).

Ok....The throttle body on the ranger is NOT 4". Its 2.56". (65mm). Some came with a 68 mm TB, and a "big mod" is to swap a 70 mm TB from a 4.6 onto it. Even a 70 mm TB is NOT close to 4". If your gonna be a pilot, your gonna need to get a little better at math.

You really needd to spend a little time useing the "Search" on the upper right of the page. All of these questions have been answered in detail, and you will learn a ton about the Tacoma in the process :)

    I wouldn't call a mod a wiener. Only an ass-wipe.
