Man you talking about flying something that can take out a 6x6 mile city kinda freaks me out. I really don't think that's something to joke about I hope you grow up a little before the US Air Force lets you fly a plane. Judging by your posts you are not ready to have that responsibility.

    Mine too.

To the OP: You probably should wait until you have the truck before doing a lot of mod planning.

For the air intake, a cai seems to be better for a 2nd gen taco. A poll a while ago on here indicated most would prefer to have the afe pro dry-s over the k&n. Though more people actually have the k&n, another poll.

Electronic throttle control on the 2nd gens eliminate the need for zip ties. :)

A 4x4 conversion is likely to be very expensive. IMO: It's a "break the bank" mod.

Not sure what you mean by "flat black rims and all chrome on vehicle?". There are lots of people who have painted/blacked out all the chrome here.

Larger tires should be a possibility, what are you running on it now? Another reason to have the truck before modding...

Here's a good thread on 2nd gen mods.
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/7174-2nd-gen-tips-mods-more.html It's a sticky in the 2nd gen subsection.

I am in the air force dip, ive said it already, I am in a program where they pay for 100% of my tuition and they are also paying stay. This means I give them mandatory years when I graduate. Yes I have to do it through ROTC so i look like any other scum sucking dick like yall and no you wont like this officer because I have my act together, cuz Ill be making decent money, because ill only have to work 8 days out of every month her in the states, because I planned it all out, because stupid H.S. drop outs are using the military as a last resort because you failed to see the bigger picture. Ill be flying up there, you can wag your finger at me all you want.
my ranger would spook all of the tacoma pics on this page hands down.

Please forgive me all you faithful, friendly, and helpful people of the forum, but I have to question the OP's common sense, maturity, and mental stability.
    1. You are in an educational assistance program which is funded by the United States Military Service. You have yet to prove that you are worthy of even receiving those benefits, as you have not yet shown that you have the intellectual capacity to graduate from the program.
    2. To assume that you will become a pilot at all brings questions to my mind as to how much research you've put into your "future career." Do you know how many officers in the Air Force are actually pilots? I think you will find that pilots are a minority of the USAF officer corps.
    3. To assume that you WILL fly, (should you be slected for flight training.......read....Psychologically, physically, emotionally, etc), such a technologically advanced aircraft is extremely arrogant and terribly presumptuous.
    4. Who do you think allows you the freedom to pursue these dreams? Dreaming is a wonderful right. Serving your country is a privilege. You have to earn that privilege by applying your self, showing that you have the brains, constitution, courage, and moral make-up to become an officer in the military service of the greatest nation in the world.

Earn it before you wear it! Fortunately, life and experience are wonderful teachers...........but............you have to be open to learn. I am not sure if you are at the point of understanding that you don't know what you don't know. Until you reach that point, humility, open eyes, open ears, and engaged brain, and a closed mouth will be your most important and useful tools.

    I wish you luck!

P.S. I was a high school dropout who entered the Navy at 17, worked my way up to E-8, then was commissioned as an officer........and retired as O-4 with a Masters Degree....so I take a little offense when it comes to referring to high school drop outs using the military to hide. Please realize there are many veterans on this forum who've sacrificed much so that you can run your mouth (freedom of speech)...and I wouldn't be surprised if some of those who served so honorably were "high school drop outs."

ok you can't even spell half your words and you come on to a tacoma site running your mouth like a damn retard baby between lents and james and you think your gonna get a welcome.
    1. you talked shit about a mod. (fail)
    2. your not ever gonna be welcomed by saying your in the AF, once your in uniform then maybe you would get respect. i might be joining to but you dont see me flying the AF logo on here.
    3. the only thing you will be suited for is checking old bombs with a tack hammer.
    x2
so now your calling everyone in the ROTC scum sucking dicks...mhmm wonder how your ROTC would think and treat you through training if we sent this little message over to them.

and your ranger would spook a tacoma? really? what are we six?
buy your parents tacoma MR money bags or GTFO

BLUF (That's a military term): Watch your mouth, Take the AF emblem off your profile, Stop acting like a big bad anything...cause you aren't.

You aren't in the Air Force- Take the emblem off your profile. You might be approved to get in- but you aren't in yet.

Estimating isn't close enuf- If you are going to drop technical details- Drop techinical details.

Some of us are already military pilots. Yeah...My helo isn't a multi billion dollar plane but it gets me around just fine to do that job that I ALREADY HAVE...not the one I hope to get someday.

Talent is based on your ability to learn- And knowledge is important cause I can teach a monkey to get a plane in the air and back on the ground. To do so without violating any laws and complying with aviation regulations...That's the challenge.

You are in college have atrocious grammar, a piss poor attitude that is WAY too big for your place in life, and you have apparently NO initiative. The "cheap" and easy mods have a link at the top of the page, and the Tacoma isn't a no-name truck...There are entire sites dedicated to Tacoma parts.

Yeah...He pretty well opened himself up for it.

You aren't telling any one anything that matters....Get a clue.

I don't like the thought of you being an officer because you DON'T have a clue. You make it hard for guys who come up with a good head on their shoulders to prove that not all officers are moron....You aren't any kind of officer TRAINEE I want to meet.
Grow up and learn what a professional is. And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE-Keep working hard so if you by some mistake at headquarters get a pilot slot....you can get assigned to a squadron on the west coast....I want a few minutes heads up when you are in the air. And make sure they know you can only work 8 days a month....LMAO.

OP.....I'd recommend you take a look here:
    http://www.afpc.randolph.af.mil/library/airforcepersonnelstatistics.asp

    • 329,638 individuals are on active duty
    • 66,201 officers and 263,437 enlisted personnel
    • The Air Force has 14,083 pilots, 4,074 navigators, 1,426 air battle managers and 30,075 nonrated line officers in the grades of lieutenant colonel and below
As you can see, just over 21% of the USAF officers are pilots.........Think you can cut it?

    Enlisted academic education
    • 99.9% with a high school education
    • 3.9% with a high school diploma/GED/Cert

And now- I post it for all to see.

You don't deserve to operate a mop at a local macdonalds never mind a spot operating anything in the American military.

Good luck finding somewhere else to learn about the Tacoma that you don't quite have yet...

And it would be "Fuck you, sir" to both Mark and myself...
