Wasn't going to do a build thread on this but what the hey, will be a long build I'm sure.

2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4
Manual Double Cab Short Bed in Quicksand

Bought this in May of 2020 right after the beginning of COVID crap - had to do a dealer lot trade to get it and waited 3 weeks. It was a toss up between the Sport and Offroad with me but knew I wanted the Manual, Cement or Quicksand, and required the larger rear axle - and the manual with the 4.30's was the best way to get that:) I wasn't concerned with Off-road vs Sport as most are as will be re-gearing and going with ARB's front and rear - possibly will not re-gear now due to the availability of Supercharger and Twins:)

As I hit the wrong button and this posted quickly, will edit in a few things and then make subsequent post that are empty so I can go back in and add quite a few things over the next few days.

Alright - background briefly so you will understand what your getting into: I'm an OCD Engineer by trade - 16 years of Air Force as an IT/Systems Engineer - 100% disabled veteran now - Work as a Nuclear Cyber Security Engineer wearing an EE badge as well lol. I have owned and built over 40 vehicles and 20 motorcycles. I have an issue with keeping things stock. If this truck stays with me 10 years this build will substantially change, I recently moved from Florida to Chattanooga area and I know this Taco will eventually be Solid Axle front, dual T-cases or at minimum Atlas, and 37's. None of that will happen till it's not my primary vehicle, and I will be focusing on my Notchback build a lot come back around to spring as well. If interested it's an 83 Notch with a 347 I built, AFR 205's, big comp cam, unfortunately AOD for now with a 3500 stall. If it stays auto will be swapped to trans-brake setup and I will be going for an all-out N/T build. Best with this setup so far was a 7:02 in the 1/8th but I was having misfire all through 3rd gear so let out after 2 full throttle hits to hit that. As it sits it's a low 6 second all motor 1/8th car but will be ALOT faster soon. It's also built for 1/4 at this time and I have to address quite a few things. I will constantly fight as I'm a Autocrosser/Road Racer and 1/4 mile guy over the years, so would be weird to have a notchback with IRS that still gets it in the 1/8th and I have a Dangerous addiction to Boost as well, so eventually the entire build will change, eventually Dart block, twins, 6 speed Magnum, IRS, kick ass at autocross, run the nearby dragon while hurting feelings, and then hit the 1/8th and bust off some high 5 second passes. That's a while down the road though. My best previous build was a 2002 Saleen Vert which I did everything on MM suspension throughout, T56 Viper spec, Vortec T-Trim, blow through setup, etc, low boost was 575 rwhp and high boost was over 700 running 93 octane with Water meth and I had swapped in IRS With 4.30's and Torsion T2r.

Anyway. Next few post will get everyone up to speed on the truck, editing in photo's in a few minutes:) I tend to overbuild everything, and this truck will be setup to tow a 25ft or less travel trailer - my Stang eventually although the first suspension mods were to tow over 7k pounds from Florida to Tennessee and it did phenomenally with the manual:)

Editing in a few pics, these were after the Front 2" spacer, and rear full length AAL was added.

List of items done to the truck:

    Fun Stuff:

~ URD Short Throw and 1lb weighted shift knob
~ Zip tie stock shift boot down low
~ 2" rough country front spacer - lifetime alignment at Firestone as will do proper suspension soon
~ Rear full length AAL - Tuff country I believe - was part number for a Ford F250
~ 3" Rear shock extender - got these forever ago for my 4Runner, and realized I had them, the truck almost maxes the brake lines out with this:)
~ Bearcat CB - Underhood PA horn, Firestick hood mount 3 ft antenna
    ~ Faulken Wildpeak MT 285/70/17
~ Jones Muffler - Flowmaster - the actual flowmaster patent for the 40 series
    ~ 1.25 wheel spacers
~ 36 sq feet of 80mm butyl sound deadener so far
~ Gator tri-fold soft bed cover
~ 9 dollar tailgate lock wired into passenger side door - Youtube vid directions
~ Broadway concave rear view mirror
~ Budbuilt Ultimate bolt on DOM Sliders with Kickouts - Black Powdercoated

Stereo - this will evolve big time - but sounds pretty good for total investment of 150 bucks - trade for the amp and subs, technically only paid for amp wire kit, and the tweeters as the 6x9's and 6.5's were a Christmas gift:)

    ~ Rockford Fosgate 1" silk dome's, 2 way 6x9's and 2 way 6x5's.
    ~ Autotek Mean Machine Amp
~ 2005-2015 Tacoma specific box for 2x10's chopped up to work with rear power window and all child safey locks - will make my own for better air space down the road. This works with this amp and sub setup for now.
    ~ 2 old Soundstream Picasso 4 ohm DVC 10's
~ Metra LOC on stock front speakers

    Plans:
~ Proper front suspension at the 2.85 to 3" mark - Weight rating and Upper Control arms (JBA) preferred but may be SPC's again.
~ Front winch setup and hybrid bumper - less is more
    ~ Viper cut eventually
    ~ Flatten pinch weld
~ Front and Rear ARB's with dual compressor bed setup.
~ On-board air tank in Spare location
~ Bed rack or organization to include a spare mount in the bed and RTT quick setup - will keep tent mounted to my rack and just remove it like I do my wife's Jeep hardtop and store on the roof...
~ Properly build single box for 2x10's with no center separation - to maximize the available airspace - Probably 2 Punch 10's as all other components in truck are RF.
~ New amps - front 4 channel and rear Mono or one kick ass DSP included 5 channel - hard part of wiring is done so just have to pull and replace:)
    ~ Ham Radio setup
~ roof rack of some sort - though I can't stand wind noise...

Original plan was Re-gear when doing ARB's, but wife is dead set on a larger camper/travel trailer - so may just do the ARB's and she said she may be on-board with the OV Twins or Maggi Supercharger so we can go a little larger on the Travel Trailer.

Hiking trip enjoying the scenery - 2" front, AAL, Sliders, wheel spacers all done here.

The Compound - look it up in Florida while back home - well where my mom and my 2 older kids live in Melbourne for Christmas.

Doing work, flipping my tractor back over - I rolled it in the mud doing stump removal:)

Not bad for AAL and stock shocks with the shock extender.
