    Hey all!

I'm hoping to solicit any pictures you have of your first gen with a wheel color OTHER than, chrome, black, or OEM silver. I did a cursory search but didn't find much. (still searching through the massive 1st gen wheel thread)

bonus points if the truck is lunar mist!

that being said, if I went bronze I’d go with the TRD SEMA styling, but that’s just my cup of tea, you do you.7DB475AB-3B3D-4840-A6CB-A8504A0BA5A2.jpg

I am a bit concerned on gold/copper/bronze with a silver truck. However the silver mist has some goldish tones to me, so it might work. although I just put dark bronze wheels on my wifes white jeep, so might be too much in the family.

I hear you, bronze is by no means my go-to color but it’s one of the few off-norm choices.
Personally I dig em black but I understand wanting to do something different.

For what it's worth, I love satin black and some rich gunmetal greys. I want my truck to be a bit silly, so having a color on the wheel might be a fun option.

Frozen colors make any plain color a little more fun.

Its basically a high gloss or metallic covered in a satin clear top coat/ many custom wheels offer this as of late. They especially pop with colors (blues reds purples ect.) But it could look good if you did like black chrome powdercoat covered in a satin topcoat? Would look good on silver.

That "frozen" look is sweet. I think red would look really good with the silver, but part of me might even go with a pink/fuchsia. I keep playing with that idea, but I know it's too ridiculous for me.

If you find a talented powder coater they can do multiple layers with color shift or different fun finishes so you can do something more black with a little bit of weird shimmer in the light. Kind of the best of both worlds where you get some color but also *mostly* black.

This for the base plus satin top coat? (see edit edit)

Or... hear me out, top coat with this?
    https://www.prismaticpowders.com/shop/powder-coating-colors/PPB-4617/glowbee-clear

Okay that might be a bridge too far but check out this link here, I think this might get your brain moving in the right direction...
    https://www.prismaticpowders.com/shop/powder-coating-colors?finishes=pris_colorshifting

Edit: leave it to me I picked literally the most expensive holographic powder, lol baby has bougie tastes.

Edit Edit: I Just remembered any color with glitter or any chunk-ulation will look bad frozen/ with a matte finish on top. You will just see the speckles more but it just won't be shiny. Frozen is gonna work best with high gloss smooth colors, glitters should be finished with high gloss.
Most of the black chrome finishes seem to be like a tinted top coat that goes over a chrome or something glossy for a smoked look, so black chrome is already 2 coats on its own. Prismatic Ultra-chrome topped in black chrome III looks solid and relatively straight forward but very high gloss. There is also a Satin Black Chrome I (not as dark though) or a Flat Black Chrome II? This might just come out looking kinda grey, Can't really find any pictures.

I think even a mirror/ultra high gloss black with a satin top coat will be different but still understated. That might be the closest to what you're looking for/ will always look good with silver, something like this...

I prefer the blues, indigos, and purples, but not that violet purple on the third gen above. :puke:

Mostly third gen pics, but I'd find a wheel you like and then a good painter or powder coater. Have them make something custom nobody else has. :stirthepot:

I saw electric lime pro with bronze wheels again today. The wheels look like a 5 or 6 spoke wheel with a negative offset. Trucks always on the oposite side of the highway and moving best guess is they're Falcons.

I'm diggin the blues tbh. It's so easy to go red and have red accents on the truck.

Another thing to think about, reds are easier to to match than blues!!!!! 1 difference in the shade of red and maybe you can get away with it, but blue, forget it!

My accent color, (brake calipers, tow hooks, ect.) is yellow. Is that because it looks good with silver and black, yes. Is that also because it's a very forgiving color to match, also yes.

This does look very good, I think could look really good on silver too... Although I think with silver I might lean a little more /magenta/purply
