alternator not charging

    2000 single cab tacoma
    so when i turn my key on the battery bulb does not turn on why do i need to replace that and is it hard?

    Did you check the rest of the wires and ground the yellow wire at the alternator and see if it turns on as I said in my previous post?

    as stated by Dm93, if you unplug the connector at the alternator and ground the yellow wire the Battery light should come on. The regulator inside the alternator requires this circuit in order to function. Is it hard to take the dash/combination meter out to replace the bulb? That is difficult to answer as each persons ability and skill level/tool box is different.
