I hope I'm not to late, but. I am looking at installing a odyssey ODX-AGM24F battery in my truck. Charging voltage recommended is 14.7-14.8V to charge it correctly. I'm not the most technical gifted person, but my truck has the Tow package on it. Can I adjust the voltage output to meet the requirements to charge the new battery? Amps wont change so my current cables size should be fine.

I'm not sure if anyone else is coming back to this thread, but I ditched the charging voltage from the tacoma ecu. I wanted a high output alternator (hobby reasons), so I went with an 350 amp alt. I didn't like how the voltage was from factory. I was seeing anywhere from 13.2-13.7 max charge. I heard of putting in a diode on my alternator, but that's only somewhat of a solution. Instead I replaced the internal regulator with on from a Chrysler (known as a 2 pin regulator) and installed a transpo external regulator on the truck. I set my voltage to 14.8v and everything is solid. Now anytime I use my truck, the voltage is 14.8v no matter the rpm, as the internal regulator no longer goes of the rpm for voltage. I could be at 700rpm idling or 2k+ rpm, voltage stays at a set 14.8v. No check engine lights on the truck at all whatsoever. I for sure thought it would throw a light, but it doesn't. I've been running it like this for over a year and it's been great. Engine cracking is super strong and batteries are happy (even though I no longer have any type of agm, lead-acid, gel, etc). I'm not sure if other year trucks will throw a light, but mine is an 06. I may have lucked out for being an older model 2nd gen. If people are interested, I can upload pictures and possibly a video (if tacomaworld lets me). If anyone has questions, I'd be more than willing to answer them!

I have a 2022 V6 Tacoma with the tow package which should include a heavy duty alternator. Does anybody know what that alternator puts out in terms of Watts? I've seen my truck will idle higher and lower depending on energy consumption in neutral and was just wondering what the limitations of it were if I wanted to hook up an inverter. I want to make sure it's something that won't draw more power than the alternator can provide without installing something like a hi rev at idle, which I think the truck technically has something similar to that

You will get better results starting a new thread with your questions in the future

However, the stock tow package alternator, on 2nd gen Tacomas, which is the section of the forum you are posting in, is 130 amps

I’d suggest you go post in the third gen section for a more accurate answer about a 2022
