Any time guy but maybe next time post in one of the proper places rather then asking a random sales question in members build thread

OK dude. It's a question only a build guy could answer but I understand what you're saying. Didn't really think about it being specifically his thread and not necessarily a public thread to have conversations within.

    OP,
My bad if my post came out wrong, etc. As a non-build guy, I had no intention of anything but a positive subject curiosity on what happens to all the stuff once you're done with the vehicle.
I'll be happy to delete my posts if it's killing the thread. No big deal. I enjoy your thread... That's why I subscribed to it last year when I came across it. Keep up the good work.

No worries bud, I kinda understood where you were coming from with the question. To further answer I think there have been a few folks on here that have striped aftermarket parts prior to selling, trading in or in cases of accident prior to scraping. If money weren't an object I probably would have picked up a '15 access cab in MGM and transferred everything over to it from my DCLB then sold on a mostly stock DCLB. I've found so far I didn't need the extra cab space and it does make the rig a little more of a squeeze on the tighter trails. Putting a reset on the odometer would have been a perk too but this truck has treated me well so it's going to be in the fleet for a while.

I just came across this thread and I'm really impressed with your homemade battery tray. It looks like it works perfectly, is sturdy, and fits in the stock location. I would like to try and make one of my own and was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing what the exterior dimensions of yours are? Thanks!

    :tumbleweed:

I've been traveling for work again so not too much. Looks like I'll be getting back to Jersey the 18th or 19th so Gultches isn't looking good either.

At least the extra hours will finance a few more upgrades to the fleet, the bike will be getting some luggage space and the trailer will be getting an awning!

Also been drooling over these, I'd really like to have a bike I can commute on and the 250 just isn't setup for an hour at 55 haha

Not sure offhand but the try is based on the battery size that you are looking to run. If I had to roughly guess my tray is about 14-1/4" long x 10" wide x 10" high once bolted in.

Best advise is to pull your stock battery and spend some time in there with a measuring tape and a cardboard mockup before heading to the auto parts store. From what I can recall even the same group size batteries had variations in size up to a 1/2" and terminal locations can vary too. Once you have an idea how much space you have buy the batteries of your choosing then fab the tray to fit snug to your setup. The fit it tight at the headlight, fusebox and AC line but everything can fit in there with some tweaking.

Do you remember what size drag chain you used to protect the fridge cord? Looking into them now. Thanx

Hey bud, I used this one from Amazon, about 24" or so of it. The drawback to this one in particular is that each of the links is completely enclosed so there is no way to feed the ARB cord in from either end without cutting off one of the plugs and splicing it back on. I didn't want to do that so I cut a slit into each of the links to let me spread the link and slide the cord in. Once all the links were cut and the cord put in and each of the links snapped together it's plenty secure and keeps the cord from falling out of the chain. I would definitely go this route again as it keeps the cord from getting caught or pinched in the slide and has held up just fine for the last year.

Love the BMW's just not sure it's in the budget. It's probably a little nice for my second bike too as I've only been riding since last summer haha.

Awesome Thanx. It's in my cart now

Also should be closing on a house end of April. One of my first garage projects for the truck will be a bed drawer system based off of yours. Considering it being the same except instead of the water tank I'll do hidden compartment for truck fluids.

Hope you can make the meets at my future house

    Nice, congrats!

Good call on skipping the water tank, I've ditched mine now in place of the extra storage for recover gear and fluids too. Rotopax and jerry cans on the trailer carry plenty of water and the tank tended to get pretty funky anyway.

Works great, I just put the same setup on my trailer too.

Was able to use my awning lights for the first real outing last weekend. Worked out great!

When you get a chance can you measure the stack height of your four maxtrax? Thanx.

@Chux - Just about 5" from the PrInSu to the maxtrax nubs
