Dang! What was that shell used for? BB gun target practice? The owner must have worked in some pretty bad areas.

Hey guys I’m thinking of ordering a A.R.E contractor 26-32 topper to do a build out but wondering what’s everyone’s thoughts on the doors on the side. Im thinking of doing the full doors with windows or maybe just the windoors. Pro or con to either? Im wondering how well the full doors seal up? Thanks

I tried to give mine away. It needed a small "patch" on the roof, but I didn't get any bites. I was gonna use it for my camp trailer, but went with a bedrack/rtt

Full doors with a small window. Being able to easily access the bed is so awesome

Sleeping in it- windoors are a must. Having the ability to open the window for air and having the doors to access the inside is very useful.

Not sleeping in it- side doors with no windows for security and privacy.

My cap had no windows when I got it. I added a roof fan/vent and then installed a front sliding window.
I like not having windows on the side doors, I like my privacy more than views.
A rear window wouldn't be bad, but I haven't found the right one, but I'm not looking that hard.

when you installed the roof vent how did you support the vent in the thin aluminum? I have a smaller one, 11x11, ready to install

I used a MAXXAIR Maxxfan Dome 6" Fan (which in hindsight was to small), for support I cut a 3/4 inch piece plywood as a support and sandwiched the metal between the plywood and the fan base.

Finally got a DCU, 23" Double door, with 1 tool box. Three bikes inside with lots of extra room. Currently at Wilson Lake, KS to ride Swithgrass.

was this the one for a Colorado?

I’m still hunting for a DCU in the MA area, and there was one that popped up locally- guy said he had it on a Tacoma but it was for an older Colorado… didn’t have the time to make the trip and not be happy with the fitment… so I passed on it.

got a lead on another one for a Colorado but same issue it’s on and older one.

This was a new "seconds" for a 3G Tacoma at a dealer in Leominster. Fits perfectly, very happy with it.

Ahh ok. Seems like they post a bunch on Facebook- been keeping an eye on them.

They have another 3rd gen one with out the cab window… but I think the doors will be too long for my second gen… and no cab window.

    Truck looks good!

Happy to join this party! I need to get it reinforced for a roof top tent and awning.
Originally white, I painted it today with bed liner.

Over GVWR and I keep adding more metal
I do not have it, and I did sell it (for like a 12 pack of beer). Since that cap, I have had the ARE DCU wedge, and now a Habitat.

WANTED Hey, this is my first post, I'm hoping that someone can help me find an ARE DCU cap for my 6' bed 2nd gen double cab. Preferably one like this picture, with the double windows, it can be any color, and any height, as long as it is a DCU fits my truck and has a rear window aswell. Any direction or help is appreciated thank you!

Also would a 62.5 w x 74.5 Nissan frontier cap fit on Tacoma since its a box and the body doesn't really have to match.
