I was wondering how you had it attached. That would be a bitch to lift up under the rack to bolt it on. The "spare tire cable dangly uvula thing" makes much more sense.

Thanks guys! I have been keeping an eye on everything back there and I dont see any exessive shaking or any signs of the tire sliding around on it. I was worried about the original uvula thing not being strong enough especially since it is mounted so much higher away from the frame, as well as not having any way to trap the tire in place like the stock spare mount.

If it doesn't hold, maybe you could weld a mounting point with lugs (like what they use to mount tires on tire gates/swings) on the bottom of the rack with the uvula wire running through it and use the uvula to raise up and hold the tire so you can put nuts on the lugs. That way the tire would definitely be held in place and wouldn't be tire size specific.

I should be set for coming down over spring break. If we can get some wheeling time in for sure, my wife may come with me, if that's ok. I told her wheeling isn't a for sure thing and that she would probably find all the guy time boring... haha.

Not sure how the whole fabbing stuff process goes, but would be cool if we could finish it all while I am down there. Then I can start really beating on my rig and advertise the hell out of your stuff! Then you can get enough business to quit your job and just fab:D

Let do some schedule checking, and like brady said, the second one will go way faster than the first. If your serious, shoot me a pm.

And brady, I am going to set aside what I have got done on the rear bumper, and get your skids done before you get here. Then focus on getting the bumper done while you are here, since it is special fit to your truck with the body lift.

Good idea. I thought about mentioning that since you can build the skids off your truck but not the bumper.

Do you have a bunch of scrap metal around? Enough to do some motor mount gussets like this?

I'm hoping you'll have some time to do this while I'm down there since I have an 05 frame...

Nice!! I was hoping so. Making them shouldn't be too bad, I hear welding them on isn't so fun though...

That will be easy to accomodate with the help of brady's truck and measurements.

Nice! How is the output from that? Does it light up a good area up front or is it just to show off the skewp at night?
