It’s been 3 years since the first post in this thread. I’d say it’s as dead as a “will these tires rub” thread.

This guy has people begging him to send them an aluminum coolant pipe for over 3 years and he just keeps teasing you. Greatest troll post of all time.

What shocks me here is that the aluminum one is a normally stocked part. Anyone here can go and buy it. It has the fitting going in the wrong direction, but this is pretty basic stuff for really any machine shop to look at and get a new fitting pressed or threaded in for the 90-degree outlet.

If you can get Lexus to sell you this piece after you plea your case if you have this issue, a mill+custom jig to hold the piece if needed(aluminum or mag?)+TIG welder= modified to OEM specs.

    That would be good stuff…

I haven't had any issue with my plastic pipe and really don't understand why someone would go out of their way to replace something that works.

Hear hear and definitely took warning from a member who mentioned that after time, the coolant becomes caustic. I recently switched it and although it still appeared pink and okay, the fresh coolant had an entirely different shade. From here on out, I’m heeding Toyota’s recommendation of every 5 years(I have to double check that, stoner can’t recall).

Because like everything else in this forum, a handful of people had an issue and everyone freaks out and thinks every Tacoma will also have the issue.

You're on TW. If it ain't broke, fix it until it is!

On the other hand, if you have a leak, it would be a bad feeling replacing it with the exact same plastic part knowing it'll probably leak again.

    Some of us have…

and yet I replaced mine with the same plastic part hoping I get another 90k out of it. Not dropping the tranny again because my bogus aluminum housing didn’t work how I planned after I cut it up.
Same school of thought on the plastic vs metal oil filter housing.

I think people want to buy one to keep on standby with the impression that their plastic one is going to inevitably fail, swapping it out when that occurs.

Just to be clear, coolant becomes acidic, the opposite of caustic, over time. One of those bulb testers can quickly tell you the Ph level of your coolant. Not sure this is causing the issues with the pipe as the pink stuff lasts 100k and most people that have had this problem are under 100k. THe mystery of the cracked coolant manifold rages on....

Would this apply in the case where someone reported this issue with a 22?

Not sure what you're asking. I would think this would fall under warranty if that's what you mean.

What I meant is age of the fluid is less likely to be a significant factor if the person with the 22 had the exact same failure.

Correct. That's why I said what you responded to initially. I don't think the fluid is a factor at all since people that have this problem are way under 100K. Not everyone has the problem either. I don't have it on my 2019. I'm almost at 80K. So this would more point to a manufacturer defect, assembly error, or mechanical stress, (like possibly wheeling too hard). Someone will figure it out eventually. Really kinda shocked that there isn't an aluminum alternative yet that can be bolted right on.
