Also so everyone knows 3rd Gen AC and all 2nd Gens use the same third brake light

Ok, thx, these are KC as you know, all the wiring is about the same, not sure if your BD lights come with bullet connections, but wiring is easy.

 

i didn't use any connectors on it, just solder & shrink. but i plan to at least drop the headliner this time and do it more right.

 

Sounds good, if you dropped the liner the first time and put in rivet nuts, you shouldn't have to do it again. My DC version will come with a double stick gasket for mounting to the cab and I'll have the rivets as well.

 

that's the idea.

 

Update, I'm still about two weeks out from making the 3rd Gen AC version, which is all 2nd Gens

All the waiting is killing me lol but I've enjoyed watching the progress

 

A little update, I've almost got a few of these finished. Going with flat black instead of semi gloss. The flat looks better and closer to powder coat in finish and doesn't show finger prints, etc like the gloss. Also, you'll have to use your plug from the old brake light since we couldn't find the exact connection, Dave and the crew searched everywhere, just couldn't find the exact plug. Wiring is easy with the 3 reds and the 2 reds/1 white will take bit more time since you'll have to wire in a switch for the white cargo light. I'll have a few of these for sale in the Marketplace next week.
