I use my cruise as much as logically possibly and is there a way to have the cruise stay on after turning the truck off? This doesn't bother me too much but my car ('06 Galant, nothing special) "remembers" what the last setting and keeps the cruise on next time I drive it.

Any mods that can keep my cruise on after turn off my '08 Tacoma?

Not really. That's a Toyota convention.

Actually on the 1st gens (most older 'yotas for that matter) anytime you dropped under 25mph the cruise would forget its last speed setting. I am so glad they got rid of that "feature."

I know what you are talking about, my dad's Honda Accord is like that, the system stays on even if you turn it off, but does not remember, you still have to reset it again. My truck since it is manual, I gotta be in 3rd gear or higher for it to work

It isnt really that hard to press a button when you get in the truck now is it?

Just saying:) Kinda like when we are following someone and we are catching up and are pissed we have to hit the cruise disconnect. Such a chore! LOL

also i would not like it to be on all the time. never now if something messed up and you could not shut it off and you crashed in to some one. (not likely at all but something that COULD possibly happen)

i do like how on my truck that if say i have it set at 63 and need to speed up a little to pass some one i can and when i let off the gas is goes back to 63. on dads 2000 tundra if you hit gas or brakes it guts it off. and you have to reset it.

Not a good idea. You should never use CC when it is raining. If you have it on & start to hydroplane, the CC will make the issue worst.

Seriously...I've seen dumber/lazier "mods" than this question. But like I said, not really something that's bothering me, just wondering.

You can always tap the brakes and disengage the cruise...Not saying I want it engaged all the time, just ON when the truck turns on and ready for a setpoint.

I don't currently and would never use cruise when it is raining...again just ON and ready for a setpoint.

I guess this has never been an issue with anyone else. I was just putting the feelers out there to see if there was something I was doing wrong or an easy fix to keep it ON (but not engaged).

You don't have to turn it off, there is coast and accel options on the stalk.

I bet you could find the right cruise power wire and connect it to something that comes on with the key like you want it to.
