I always said that people don't realize their headlights are off because the instrumentation is on and they're used to it being on at the same time as the headlights. And then it happened to me when I had to drive my cousin's 2011 Odyssey. He had to tell me to turn on the lights. In my defense, it was still dusk so even if the headlights were on I still wouldn't have seen them on the road. As for LED DRLs, some put out enough light on the road that the drivers probably think their headlights are on.

Cool. What are the key differences between the US and Canadian headlight/DRL assemblies?

Wow! First world problems I guess..

Set the headlight sensitivity to it's lowest setting on the head unit and they won't come on until it's a little darker, giving you a few more minutes to look super cool with just your DRLs on!

Not sure about newer models, but for many years US models didn't have DRL modules installed. When importing a vehicle into Canada it was always a requirement to have one installed before you could legally register it. They had different bumper requirements as well and some models would need the bumpers changed.

I already told you I didn't give a fuck. What part of that did you miss. This is the most pointless topic to argue about

    yet you keep replying...

don't make a vague statement refuting something and then get surprised when someone's curious about the details.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
My 2016 Sport has DRL mode. Then Parking, then fogs, then heads.

On most modern~ish cars the DRL option is done via a programming flag (on/off). Manufacturer gets to use the same hardware for all markets and just flip a software switch when needed.

Dealers usually have the software tools to set this flag.

I think OP has the P&T package which includes auto headlights. Maybe he should have passed on that package to keep things simple.
