A few weeks ago I installed these fog lights

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-05-1...fits=Model:Solara&hash=item416d7b9220&vxp=mtr

I do not find that make much of a difference. They do light up the side of the road barely, but not enough to really make a difference. I am thinking the bulbs are probably cheap and not very bright. Can anyone recommend a good bulb to try?

I tried adjusting them but the adjustment is only vertical. Again, no real difference.

When aimed against a wall they seem to be pointing in the right direction.

    Thanks

Would smoked make that big a difference? They are not black.

So taking that into account, what stronger bulb could I try that the electrical could handle.

Paint them black and then go buy some good aftermarket lights

The smoked lenses will cut down a good amount of the light output. I've learned that the stock fogs aren't to bright to begin with. I have the yellow lamin-x coves installed with Nokya yellow bulbs and they arent very bright at all. I used to have HID's installed in my fogs for a couple of years but they were way to bright and blinded oncoming traffic even with them aimed down as far as possible.

When you get your windows tinted, do you expect more, or less light to come through them?

OP have you ever been behind someone who has tint on their tailights? Did you find it harder for you to see them when they braked? Same thing with your lights. You put something dark over something that light is suppose to come out of, obviously the light output is going to be less.

OK guys... youn are right.... tinting reduces light output...big time...

Anyway....here is a daytime pic of my Nokia Hyper Yellows with the DTRL mod (on when other lights are on).....

I love the DTRL mod and the Hyper Yellows...

Everyone in my town knows it's me coming....cuz... nobody has this setup ...yet..
