I'd jump all over it, in a few month's your truck won't be worth that much, current lack of supply and demand has made a bit of a bubble, I'd capitalize on the opportunity.

Check KBB and cars.com, the value of used has gone up significantly due to demand and lack of supply both used and new. Doubt its a scam at all.

    KBB and Cars.com LOL

Check out the thread "What did you pay for your 2020 Tacoma."

Yes, inventory is down, but so are the number of customers walking in the door..

These are actual prices that people "paid". Not "advertised" prices. Nobody is paying anything near sticker...Dealers are going out of business and laying off people.

You are probably right and the offer isn't a scam but geez! Just buy a new one!

It’s pretty hard to scam someone when your the buyer, unless the seller is a complete moron.

Clearly you are not looking at the 2020 thread, which I am and am active in. There is literally no inventory and strong demand in most regions, SOCAL is charging MSRP or markup on TRD ORs. You couldnt be more wrong, not to mention you couldn't purchase a 2020 TRD OR Tech/Prem/4wd/AT for that price new anyways, MSRP on those packages and configs went up, you're looking closer to $38-40k discounted from $43-46k sticker prices on that particular config.

Thank you for confirming my point:

Like I said, nothing is selling for MSRP and for $3k more than the $35k offer the OP got the buyer can get a new one. Most likely at a similar payment since the interest rate will be lower on a new truck loan and the term can be longer. Makes no sense.

That is why I said it might be scam.

What is so hard to understand?

That was prior to current shortage, as a reference, your quote is out of context from my statement, read much? You could not get that price now even if you could find a new one. You have no idea what you are talking about, but keep on keeping on (besides lower APR on new car loans, which is common sense). The rest you are very wrong on and your information is dated prior to the current circumstances and supply / demand for both used and new right now.

Thats actually less than 10% off sticker and w/rebate, give me a sec and I'll find the MSRP ones from that thread and so $40k is $35k now huh?

So, a private person offered you $2k more in cash than anyone else thus far... and you admit that 6 months ago you'd have jumped all over this...

Why are you not selling it again?

If someone wants to give you $35k for your 2 year old truck... I'd say do it before they move on.

Just do the transaction in a bank and make sure the money is good before you hand over keys and title.

You're an idiot, see my above post from the one cherry picked quote from the 2020 thread you glanced at.

Yeah, people overpay all the time...especially when they are upside down in their trade. ;-)

The dealer takes the $10k of negative equity and adds to the loan. Most people know that ;-)

Clearly you are not reading that thread or have any idea what you are talking about. There is literally no supply in some areas and continued demand so dealers are getting away with MSRP or more and selling used trucks for what was new prices months ago.

Not according to everyone that posted on "What did you pay for your 2020" thread..

Well, except for the folks with $10k negative equity ;-)
