You know theres a shit ton of 05 Tacomas on the road that are perfectly safe with more than 250k on them, right? Restore? Seriously?
And your're gonna subtract from the price for aftermarket parts?
What fairy tail have you been smokin' in?

I have an 06 with 218k on it...it is my daily driver, my off road rig...drove it from VA to Colorado this summer pulling my trailer and tent., did the Red Clay Rally last Spring, doing it again this Spring. Did fine. I believe the head gasket thing was just the 05's...I researched it way back when and my engine had the seal fixed on the #6 head. I forgot what I looked up to see mine was in the clear.

Anyway...if you buy something with this many miles..you'll replace little things here and there. For instance, I replaced all of my idler pulleys, alternator, and belt and hoses last year before my trip. They were all original. Radiator is original. Everything was pressure tested and it's perfect. Not sure about the timing chain?? I think you'll be good.

I refuse to buy a third gen just on principle..PRICE!! It's ridiculous. If I do get another Tacoma...I'm sticking with a Second Gen for sure...or a Third Gen 4Runner... Just my .02.

EDIT...my brother in law has an 05 with 320k on it....

That’s what I figured but it still has me nervous. I guess since I have almost 160k then I might be alright.

Not ones that have been abused.

Absolutely going to reduce the value for being *damaged*. That list of parts is a red flag indicator of abuse.
Not the cost of those parts, but rather (a) the cost of fixing the damage -- i.e. returning it to factory condition, and (b) additional reduction to compensate for the likely future costs of whatever additional wear was caused by those parts.
