Toyota and Honda leases are good if the MF is low. They should have higher residuals making the payment lower. I lease all the wife's vehicles. Recently a CRV Touring for $375 /36 no down payment. I was going to lease the ranger but the buy price was too good...

Lots of people in this thread swapping out vehicles annually. Anyone ever plan on retiring? If I'm not keeping a vehicle 10 years, I'm not buying it.

After 9 Tacomas I'll say I know longer am "in love" with my truck, ready for something new for sure.

Because people were thrifty in their middle years. My Retirement can easily support a couple of new vehicles every three years. We earned it by being very thrifty and majorly saving/investing.

Now we can buy crap we wouldn't buy when we were working. We saved/invested so we CAN be far less thrifty in retirement. But old habits die hard. I still pay cash for my vehicles where I used to buy used and lease the wifes. Our income exceeds our expenses by 50% each month. Saving more now than ever but loosening up and spending has been hard at first. I have a watch hobby that can get expensive LOL.

    It's complicated.
I just sold my 1992 Toyota XtraCab 4x4 pickup, and am selling my 2006 Subaru. I keep my vehicles a very long time. My new Tacoma meets the needs of both vehicles; it can cart around 4 people in comfort, and I can sleep in the back when I go on my camping trips.

My decision to buy a new vehicle came because I reached the point where I would have to begin plunking down $$$ in maintenance & repairs, for vehicles that weren't worth much on paper.

Selling the old truck for $9,500 sure made that an easy decision.

    I had a kleemann c55 amg before truck. 410hp/425lbs. I don't really miss it.

My brother has a b58 Msport that's faster than my AMG. Fun car, but I rather drive the truck than the bimmer to be honest. My GAF% goes way down driving the truck.

My next car will be the open frame Exocet though

Super smart. I'm 39 on my 3rd vehicle. I keep about 10 years, avoid repair bills. I'm retiring quite a bit earlier than most.

I first started listening to Dave Ramsey 10 years ago or so. I didn't follow his plan or anything because that's basically how we lived anyway. Listening to the financial decisions people made who called in was mind boggling. But hey, to each his own.

Multiple vehicles is the way to go if you can swing it. I love switching between my Tacomas and C7.

Can’t hop a curb confidently in a bmw, I’d keep the truck if you can only swing one automobile right now. You’ve already spent time, money and made good memories in it.

Plus you don’t wanna be that guy who’s asking to borrow a buddy’s truck for some random weekend home project or renting the Home Depot f150 for 20$. We all have the one friend whom does this to us and we can’t stand him.:burp:

Yeah, you and the others are right - multiple vehicles. Then I would have the best of both worlds. When I want to enjoy the pavement and get some adrenaline, I'll drive the BMW (or ride my motorcycle), and when I want to be high off the ground or go off road, then I'll jump into the Tacoma.

I'm sure I am going through a phase right now. When I park my truck and walk away from it, I almost always look back and at it and smile. I love it.

two vehicles is the way to go if you can swing it. The Tacoma is a truck. It drives like a truck. It's not a fast sports car. I got the Tacoma for the 4x4 capabilities plus to haul stuff around in the bed. I have a civic which is on the cheaper side of fast cars and is my daily. I've spent much more modding the civic to make it fast which is a rocket ship compared to the truck. I'm very happy with the combo

Trucks and suvs are obviously the trend right now and have been for a minute and "overlanding" (I hate that term lol) and being in the outdoors is the current fad thanks to ig and other social media. It seems a few 3rd gen owners fit that profile, bought into the whole scene, never owned a truck and bitch about it (not saying the OP is)

If you’re good with older cars, find an original Z4 to add to the stable.

I have friends who own Tacomas and go off road. I would ride shotgun with them and have a lot of fun. I guess I just wanted to do that in my own vehicle, which I have done a lot and do enjoy. Trails are fun!

Sell the parts, get rid of the leased truck and get yourself a 2nd gen for much much less and get your BMW.
