Am I in the wrong? SDHQ Black Friday discount

    Per an Instagram conversation with SDHQ I was informed their switchpros mount qualified for free shipping under their Black Friday sale. After purchasing, I received an email stating this was not the case and that their SDHQ manufactured mount did not qualify for any discounts (free shipping) under their Black Friday sale. Did I misinterpret the Instagram conversation?

    I realize it’s only $16 but at this point it’s more the integrity of a business and standing behind their word as opposed to passing their mistakes off on their customers.

    I read it as only free shipping on the switch pro and not the mount.

    Tax of living in Hawaii. At least most companies will come out and explicitly state Hawaii is excluded.

    Let them charge you, wait for it to arrive, call them and ask for the free shipping or you’re charging the whole order back with your credit card. They’ll credit you.

    I’m assuming before complaining about $16 on here you reached out to them and said you were already told free shipping, now it wasn’t? Otherwise the whole “I’ll show you” public display isn’t any more appropriate than the customer service you’re having an issue with.

    Personally, I’d ask them and show them that you were obviously told one thing and that’s why you ordered and ask if they’ll cut you a break and honor their word. If they say no, then I’d take it up as an experience not to forget in the future with other purchases you might consider with them. But.. if you skipped all that and just came to a forum to make a louder noise over $16 then you’re also the consumer I don’t want as a customer, and I’d happily cancel and refund your order, apologize and move on myself.

    They give a forum discount if you private message them. When I bought my Switch Pro and mount it was good for the mount but not the Switch Pro.

    I did in fact reach out to them, and this thread was only created after reaching out to them and giving them ample opportunities to correct the situation. The thread was created to get others opinions on the situation. This is the first time I've found myself in this situation and I was curious what others thought about it, if it was common practice in the industry, or common practice with the company.

    This has been an experience, and will remember in the future to have things explicitly stated prior to purchasing.
    I do realize were talking about $16 and it seems silly. My concern was simply business integrity and customer service, the monetary value is null at this point.
