Op I would asume you bust your ass at work and if you got the money, do it. Enjoy life making logic financial decisions, my 2cents.

if you have the funds GO FOR IT, but i would go for a used 2nd gen.. i have a 3rd gen and yes the bells and whistles are nice but I HATE the way the tranny is. the transmission is always confused, yeah ive had it reflashed etc but it didn't help. i traded my 15 for this 17 and i do regret it. IMO:thumbsup:

If you had it flashed with no positive results then the dealer didn’t do it, I had mine flashed and it runs perfectly.

Agreed, people do not like getting beat by a Prius at any distance!

Unfortunately no, only if you put solar on your house! The govt really only subsidizes the auto industries like Tesla.

Though I like the Taco a lot, sometimes I miss having an SUV, so I can see a truck and SUV having different uses, despite the similarities. If it were me though, I'd probably pair a Taco with something like the WRX or GTI.

In the past I always had an FJ and a sports car (Z4 usually). Ive also thought about that also ... the suv/sports combo. Logically probably the best thing to do. Thanks for the reply.

Mine's my daily driver, but If I were to buy another, I would want an older Gen. Taco that has a front diff lock.

Furthermore, I'm glad my '17 hasn't all those new safety features.

Hey man I'm 24 years old with degrees in accounting and finance and a CPA, debt free, working in a major city making close to six figures right out of college.

I don't need to bet you shit to know bad financial decision making when I see it.

I'm 67 years old with a degree in accounting and retired. I made six figures for many years so good for you getting a head start on making six figures right out of college. What big accounting firm did you work for to start your career?

I don't know ANY CPA's that have the time to waste on a stupid forum during working hours. LOL

I have your same problem only a bit worse; Tacoma, 4Runner, and FJ. Each of them is different and each has its own purpose.

    Enjoy

    Like, so many.
For me, it wouldn't make sense. Outside of the initial expense you've got insurance and upkeep.

    Ooh enjoying the kerfuffle...

I shouldn't be giving anyone financial advice, except this...never get divorced. Or better yet...never get married.

As far as vehicles, I have a Taco OR for work and offroad fun and to drive in the winter, and I have an MX5 as a DD in the warmer months. Best of both worlds.

If you are really into dogs that much, you will probably need the enclosed space of the 4R for transport. You could put the seats down in the Taco and put the dogs there, but there goes all your lockable storage. I would vote against getting a truck so similar to the 4R. JMO of course.

Re' bloodhounds...did you ever see Best in Show? Saw it for about the 5th time last week, and it's still funny as heck. I think the Bloodhound was awesome and should have won (LOL it's a movie...).
