Am I just old? Or do others like round off-road lights better than light bars

When I was a kid, way back... like waaaaayyyyyy back (1970s) I loved the roll bar mounted and front bumper mounted off road lighting (think Back to the Future truck). Nowadays it's all about the LED light bars. I know the light bars are superior... but I just can't make myself like them. Am I alone in this or do others prefer the look of the round off-road lights?

I like the round lights better, seems like it's cheaper/better to go with a bar though, unfortunately.

Just looking at some videos... this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXXFh9i9x1o really shows off how good the LED bars are... as compared to the tight focus of most round lamps (we used to call them pencil beams)

I've always liked the round ones until bars came in :smash:

I do like the bars on the front, when done right... but on the roof it doesn't look right to me. Oh well. Still don't even have the truck yet.... still dreaming!

    I'll take LEDs....
Low power draw- allows for more light without straining charging/battery
    high vibration resistance
    long chip life (50,000hrs typ)
    more compact
multiple color choices (amber for fogs, bright white for general use)

I do believe rounds throw further than bars spot wise.

Maybe a HID, certainly not a halogen light. Have you seen the ARB intensity lights or the Rigid Hyperspot?

Definitely, my 30" spot/flood combo doesn't throw far at all compared to my buddies red ring HID spots.
But the bars work good for my use, cheap, low draw, and no maintenance.

I never said LED vs. non-LED. I said round vs. bar. Round traditional styled lights that are LED based are available.... see my link above.

I much prefer LEDs over halogen. Still don't know much about HIDs to have an opinion.

EDIT: OK, I can see where I said LED bar, vs. round... so yeah, I was not clear on that. I meant the shape, not the technology.

20% tint on all windows, Deckplate mod, satoshi-ish grille, blacked out and/or body matched emblems, rattle canned rims, red l.e.d. interior lights, bilstein 5100's and OME 881 coils , deaver 8 leaf pack, 1.5" lift shackle, alpine sound system, 55w HID lightforce 140 and 170 fogs
Two of the round light I have in the front of my truck will throw light further than the biggest most expensive light that rigid makes. For a fraction of the cost. Not to mention they take up wayyyy less space and can be mounted in way more configurations.
