Am I just old? Or do others like round off-road lights better than light bars

Not to derail...too badly. But what are you guys using for switches? I would really like some sort of switch on a pendant that I can hold in my hand. I like to use my lights while travelling the rural roads too and from work, but as you know, the lights are illegal to use on roads. I need something that I can quickly turn off, not have to hunt for a dash mounted switch. (what I have now)

Then I am not surprised! That's something I was going to research as an alternative to LEDs. SO maybe an LED bar on the front, and some round HIDs elsewhere. Where are yours mounted?

I prefer them round, big, and perky...

... or am I in the wrong thread again?

    Crap, I hate getting old.

From the KC Hilites site... although it's not a Taco, it does look dead sexy. Maybe I could change my mind...

20% tint on all windows, Deckplate mod, satoshi-ish grille, blacked out and/or body matched emblems, rattle canned rims, red l.e.d. interior lights, bilstein 5100's and OME 881 coils , deaver 8 leaf pack, 1.5" lift shackle, alpine sound system, 55w HID lightforce 140 and 170 fogs
On the front bumper. Only drawback is they take a few seconds to warm up and get to full brightness.

Picked the lights up off craigslist for like $250 for all four and then converted them to HID myself. So $300-350 total that puts light further down the road than a 50" rigid with the hyperspot that's runs damn near $2000

They can also be adjusted to be a full spot, full flood, or anything in between.

Yes, I'm old & I like the round look also. Although they are inferior to (good quality) LED bars.

I like my piaa 510s, I was thinking on a light bar but I want distance not width. So round halogens (hids not being to good for on and off) it was.

Never thought of the startup time issue... but if you're only using them off-road, you'd leave them on, no?

I'm not off road much, just have them tapped into my high beams on a 3 pos. switch. It was easier than I thought.

Just look at the build thread
I like LED bars for flat (or semi flat) surfaces such as on top of a bumper or roof/roof rack, etc. But for ditch lights and bumper mounted fog lights I like round. I just can't make myself like the square pods like duallys. I'll be running a 40" bar on my Prinsu rack and a set of Vision X light cannons as "ditch lights".
