I cut some wires here. Added some wires there.
Did rusted bolts cost me the passenger's side heat shield over the catalytic converter? I would imagine there should be one on each side, no?

No heat shield on my passenger side catalytic converter either. I think you are okay.

I just noticed this on my truck last weekend and it made me wonder if one fell off.

All my heat shields eventually broke free and began to rattle, so I pulled them off. I go over the truck with an IR gun once in a while, never noticed any hot spots anywhere on the floor pan.

Nope, you're okay, just Toyota messing with us. Only driver side has a shield.

I actually ordered one for my passenger side:anonymous: after my driver's side started rattling because it was about to fall off. Beware, the Toyota parts guys don't know enough to tell you there isn't one on the passenger side. I have ripped the stickers off the new shield before I figured out I really didn't need it...now I can't return it. $65 shot in the ass :frusty:

Hang on to it. Your drivers' side one will eventually rot away and fall off. Just put it on a shelf with your spare frame that will eventually rot and fall off.
