Found a 23 TRD OR with AT and premium pkg 8K miles. 39K. Opinion on price? Seems good, but I am new to the Tacoma world.

Sounds reasonable. Location is a factor. Under MSRP for new right now is the norm though. It's worth comparing against that.

Before I would buy it. I would make sure you test drive it. Understand the transmission shifts differently than you may be used to. The backup camera is basically in 480p resolution and the seating position is uncomfortable for some people. Other than that is in a color you can live with?

Looks to be a great price, what kind of dealer (new car or used only)? No title issues?

Clean car fax. New car dealer/recent trade. Not certified. Carfax show new at 47K. Clean title.

If you can get it for 39k out the door and everything checks out then yeah, that's a great deal. Just beware taxes, title fees, registration fees, and whatever crap the dealer may try to tack on.
When I bought my Taco the dealer had put a pin stripe on that I hadn't asked for and tried to upcharge me $800 for. I refused to pay for it and in fact made them take it off. Granted this was pre-pandemic so customers still had a little more leverage to walk away if something wasn't right.

Why haven’t you bought it already?
In all seriousness get an OTD price. Some dealers advertise an artificial low price. Then when you receive the OTD figure it includes mandatory protection packages of $1,995 bringing the price up to just “okay”.

I would buy it at that price if everything checks out and they are not padding it with a bunch of stuff you don't want or need.

I got OTD price. Excluding tax (city & local) they are adding $650 doc fee, but waived prep fee. So $39K plus $650. Tax is what it is…6%…so that’s an add. Got it in writing.

New car dealer as it was a trade, but not a Toyota dealer. Thinking of telling them to bag the $650 and we are good to go.
    Thoughts?

They’ll just reduce the sales price by $650, they can’t remove it but sounds like a fair counter. Unless it’s a one price store hopefully they say yes.

Doc fee is nothing but dealer added profit. You can and should push back on paying it but don't be surprised if they hold their ground. If they refuse to remove it, tell them you are willing to split the difference and see what they say.

Thx. I’ve learned to never make a deal I won’t walk away from. Thx for input….just trying to learn if this is fair or a good deal from folks in the know.

8K is a new truck. The price is great, BUT why did someone dump it with that low mileage, unless maybe it's a demo? Something to think about.

Got my 2020 DCLB w/about 8k on it from a dealership in TX (not a Toyota dealer) back in February of 2022 and with shipping and taxes paid a little over 40k, so IMHO that is a pretty good deal.
I also got around 4k over the norm MSRP for my 2013 JKRU when Insold it, so at the time of super hiked up prices at the end of 2021/beginning of 2022, I got out it feeling pretty good.
As others have said, if all checks out it would be a good deal.

650 is a lot for a doc fee, they're usually in the 100-200 dollar range.

I'd push back a bit. Also check your state laws, some put a cap on dealer document fees.
