Yep it sucks. BTW, I would never count on anything being handed down to you. Situation's change and so does life. Go on about your own as if there is absolutely nothing to expect in the future. You'll be better off in the long run.

Ya know John, it reminds my of my family, it began to occur to me that I needed to put some distance between myself and certain members of my family because they were too damn disruptive in my life, sounds like your cousins are nuts and your family is enabling them, it's tough when you want to yell or say something like to your grandma but it's not going to make a difference. So you just keep whoever you need to at arm's length and move on emotionally.

Fact: Love blinds. Parents and grandparents will see only what they want to see even when it's so plainly obvious to everyone else they are just enablers.

it also pisses me off because about 2 years ago he was hit by a car by a guy looking to buy some coke,(at the time he didnt have any) so the dude ran him over. He got over 100k in settlements and saved up all the money in a account but used his drug money to live off of. One day i asked him why he doesnt put a huge down payment on a house, and he told me because if he owns a house and gets caught growing in it he could lose it.... well when he got caught this last time they found his account and ceased it.. now he can't get to it at all.... I just hope the fucker goes to jail...But we are from the Emerald Triangle so I can bet a slap on the wrist will come...

Wow, this just gets better. John, get some distance between them and you and don't look back. You'll never understand them and you can't fix them. I've had a similar situation in my family and I have not communicated with that side of my family for years. I haven't lost any sleep over it.

Shit things just changed rapidly since my last post... I just got just a Text from my mom to come down to the ER my grandfather is throwing up blood and has internal bleeding. So now I feel bad for the anger I had towards him. Just siting in the waiting room doesn't sound good

Don't be angry with yourself. This has nothing to do with that. What's your grandpa's name? I'll say a prayer for him and your family. Be there to support your grandpa and grandma, and mother. Do what you have to do. Life is way more important than all the other bullshit we face.
